This morning I see Jim Phipps retweeted a series of 3 tweets from our beloved Prince. Said tweets were all in Arabic, but using the translator it appeared as if he was thanking his country for working for them, as if he was now stepping down? And I know Jim often retweets things related to us all the time. Could this signal he's taking more of an interest in us now we've been promoted or am I putting 2+2 together and getting 5?

Hope so mate - next stop Premier League! He must realise that this could be the reality with the right investment now.

I do hope so.

He's a smart guy. Hopefully he realises what a massive opportunity next season could be - possibly our best.

It means he can turn up for the trophy lifting...Can we call him a gloryhunter seeing as he helped fund it or not?

So he steps down as the prince of his country (or whatever he is) and we think that's because he wants to pack up and move to Sheffield and focus on us....right.
Think he was the Sports Minister of Saudi? Not suggesting for one minute that he packs his bags and moves to Sharrowvale just thought it could be a signal that he takes a slightly more serious interest in us alongside his other businesses. After all I didn't think the job he was in over there was a permanent thing.

The post reads like you're asking if he's stepped down to step up with us. I get you now. I hope you're right!!

Congratulations on the least researched post in s24su history
Looking forward to hearing your views on brexit, trump and the forthcoming general election

Regarding any sudden and significant injection of funds it will be interesting to see what does happen. After all part of the reason for Wilder being brought in was for his skill of managing on a tight budget and getting maximum value for money. I don't think that approach will change personally. Of course the budget will increase but I sincerely doubt we will start chucking 30k a week at players any time soon. I suspect Chris will want to keep the wage band narrow to avoid any one player being on significantly more money than the rest. That will mean either bumping existing player's salaries up (by quite a margin) or bringing in new players on similar amounts. It's going to be a challenge to get the balance right in a league where agents are regularly screwing clubs into playing lower end PL sums.

He's got to work 30 days notice so can't come next week. He should had more faith a month a go whe some of you lot were flouncing

Sounds like his fixed term is up, hopefully he'll be more hands on now.

People talk of consolidation but why can't we go for it whilst we're on a massive high?

Of course we can!

Question is do we have £20m - £30m to spend, along with the massive wages that go with those type of signings?

I guess we'll all find out soon enough. I'd say we haven't got that kind of cash but that's just my option. What the hell do i know?

He's getting out of the big roll business. Gonna start producing pyros instead.

I imagine next season being approached in a very simillar way to this by Wilder and Knill. Appropriate signings to improve what we have where it's needed at prices that will yield profit on future sale. A continuation of the importance of the team ethic and no "marquee" signing.
Frankly couldn't give a fuck what Abdul does or dosen't do.

We really do not want to be losing the ethic, spirit & togetherness we've got now.

No to mercenaries.

If we signed a player from a smaller club and put him on higher wages, wouldn't he then be a mercenary?
