The thing that epitomised Adkins reign was the players walk of shame after the last game hardly anyone stayed to clap, probably more stayed to give them some abuse those that could be arsed to make the effort.

The incredible thing about that season was in theory the club was being run really well....but still failing miserably.

I thought to myself we’ve appointed the manager with the best cv in the whole division, we’ve bought some good quality players, we’ve even brought back local hero Billy Sharp, that season we would play decent/ well in many matches playing decent passing style...then the defense would switch off for a few seconds as we’d concede.

After that Scunthorpe match I didn’t know whether to cry or laugh with hysteria.
The club was being run so well with everything in pace for promotion BUT we still finished mid table in shitty league 1.

I was actually thinking we were cursed....you could put the best players in the world in our shirts and they’d struggle. The famous red and white striped shirt was so heavy it was suffocating the players. We were doomed to be also rans always being forced to sell our best players for ever.....then the MesIah Lord Wilder arrived.

The Prince, now he has his hands fully on the tiller, is running us like a 21st century business. His son in law is very impressive too. Its a big step forward, enjoy the ride.

This discussion isn't about The Prince v McCabe at all. There's a huge positive feeling around the club. The Prince has been magnanimous since the court case and hugely impressive with his financial commitments to the club, the personal guarantees which, despite the way the court case went initially,could have resulted in huge liabilities. Subsequent release of funds and therefore future commitments re contracts show the ambition the board have. There is no criticism of him at all. Quite the opposite.

My point was about the nonsensensical claim that someone could have overseen the sale of the club better than McCabe. ( Who brought The Prince onboard), on the basis that they would "work harder" - but can't give an example of what that means - and "cut the price" losing even more of their own money. Bandwagon jumping.

The partnership investment cost both owners money, come, Wilder, we started to see the shoots of recovery. Legally, what's happened has happened, being a supporter of the club rather than an owner, what has happened since HRH took over is far more important, and satisfying, to me as a supporter of well over fifty years, than crowing about the failures of a man who put his money where his mouth is. It's now 2020, there's a new kid on the block and alongside Wilder, he's taking us places. The foundations were in place, now we're building, and fast. The Harris/Currie etc times are being surpassed. For older fans, how good is that?
