Well, it was either lose some early or plough ahead and lose a lot in the hope that someone would come along and magic up the asking price. Unsurprisingly, nobody did.

The Moose/McBurnie signings were made when Kev McC. was still joint owner, so both owners would have had to sign off the payments, so far as I understand it.

Just 12 months ago I still had absolutely no idea about what he wanted for SUFC, or if he even had any interest in us any more, and I would have happily seen the back of him. Now I think that him winning the court case will probably be the 2nd most important event in our history, with the 1st being the appointment of CW & AK of course.

Possibly. I did have the same thought yesterday.

Maybe the whole "Europe in 5 years" thing was only part of a wider term? "This club will get to 'Europe in 5 years' as soon as I fuck off and someone comes in and unleashes this clubs real potential because we all know I won't"

Lo and behold...

Every decent player we've had under McCabe was sold for far less than market value. "When a bigger club comes calling..." and "when a players head gets turned" are 2 classics from him. And a lot of the fans stood by and let him get away with it because times have been harder.

But now look...

Prince Abdullah (pbuh) has seen an opportunity to really take this club forward and make it something. McCabe saw it as something else on his portfolio.

I'm sorry I thought the Prince was on the board with McCabe when we appointed Wilder?

The club hasn't fallen 'fortuitously' into his lap either. The club was taken from McCabe when he tried to get clever with the Prince. He got what he deserved for trying to be cocky. You only have to read the court reports and the judge's comments about McCabe to know who the sly one is.
