Prince Abdullah

You can't blame anyone for the shit we are in now, only Prince Abdullah he is the one with the money and makes the final decisions.

I am not a fan of the Prince by any means. I don't like the amateur tinkering side of United World. He is guilty of making poor decisions and in not clearing out some of the staff. Today's problems are a culmination of poor decisions taken years ago. The recruitment decisions have been for the most part shockingly bad. To compound it other than Ramsdale our strategy has not given us any profit on players. Which a club like ours needs.

Between Wilder Hecky Mitchell and Bettis it's hard to know who has caused more damage. There is a bigger problem evident this season that Hecky or Wilder haven't addressed. A complete and utter inability to organise the team put on the pitch. Picking the team is an issue but I have watched amateur teams play with more organisation and effect than what we are witnessing. The manager is getting it wrong and we have no leaders on the field who are smart enough to adjust and nullify what the opposition are doing. The consistent thought process that mostlty we play 352 is completely naive and shows no evidence of learning.

This sort of thinking has led us to not recruiting wingers and limits our options. We might play a variation but McAtee or Archer are not wingers and BBD while he can play out there is better in a two up top arrangement.

Wilder and Hecky are not able to acclimatise to the PL and the lack of oxygen in the dizzy heights has scrambled their thinking. The heroin dependency of overlapping means we are as easy to contain as dead duck. As a defensive unit we look as clued in as an Amish farmer driving a combine harvester.

How many more times does it have to be said that our favourite player just didn't want to stay at the Lane? And who's to say that this same player would have had any success being a reluctant fighter with us in the division above? He aint pulling up any trees at Marseilles that's for sure. Still, it gives folk a nonsense point to have a pop at the Prince.
Maybe he took one look at the quality of players Hecky had brought in, and the utter farce that was our summer physical conditioning programme and thought, fuck this I'm off.

Sit on the bench at Marseille or play infront of a midfield of Osborn, Basham, Norwood???

You’ve just hit the nail on the head pal! ‘His’ network of scouts! Not Heckys
I think this is how basically every club operates? The manager will be in dialogue with the scouts, director of football, owner etc. about targets. They will profile and recommend names, manager and owner will sign them up. The manager usually identifies the targets/positions he wants. Owner pay rolls it.

Not in 2024! These days the manager has no input (unless it's Klopp/Guardiola). And obviously, unless it's Sheff Utd, in which case we rely on our manager to do pretty much everything, which is why we're sat in the middle of an absolute cluster fuck of a scenario

I can’t find a more recent link and these things obviously evolve over time so this may have changed. This is from 2019.

SHEFFIELD UNITED
The Blades appointed Paul Mitchellnot that one – as head of recruitment/development after restructuring their entire scouting department in the summer of 2016. Chris Wilder, who replaced Nigel Adkins around the same time, and assistant Alan Knill are particularly involved when it comes to transfers, culminating in their rise to the Premier League. No player is targeted without the manager’s approval. It then falls on chief executive Stephen Bettis to iron out all the details.

According to this it seems as if Wilder gives the say on who to target, or did in 2019.

The owner didn't pick one in midfield against one of the most technical sides in the PL.

The owner didn't spend our Summer budget on Slimane, Traore, Larouchi, Trusty and Archer.

The owner didn't offer new contracts to Fleck, Basham, Osborn.

If he's guilty of anything, it's consistently picking the wrong person to manage the club and not putting an infrastructure in place that replicates most other top flight sides.

But as usual, much easier to blame the guy from Saudi as opposed to the one from Fulwood...
He employs the people that do all of the above so yes the buck stops with him.

That's why we've ended up with utter dross on contracts that we can't get rid of. Remember Ricky Holmes who Wilder was after for years, isn't he still under contract here? For every Fleck and JOC there's a Samir Carruthers and Luke Freeman.....

At clubs like Brighton, Brentford - dare i say Luton - my understanding is the first team manager has very little say on who is brought in/sold. There's a 5 year plan executed by the director of football and they stick to it.

We had one of the brains behind Brighton's rise at the club....

I thought the story was that he had agreed a long term contract and changed his mind at the last minute- hardly someone who just didn’t want to stay.
In my opinion is always about the money and United obviously didn’t offer enough.
So for me it was down to the Prince .
Not saying it would have made a difference, but it might have.

Partly agree. He's not a United fan, doesn't give a fuck about the city, the fans, the club. He wanted to make a few quid and it's backfired. He's got no attachment to the club at all.
Don't forget he's ploughed a fortune in for transfers and trusted a manager with hundreds of millions which was completely wasted. In the same situation, I'd be reluctant to do it again and try and recover as much as possible if someone was willing to buy the club.
The first time we were promoted it was still Abdullah & K M still joint owners. So joint investment. At the end of the season Abdullah took his money back from the Prem TV money. He took out a mortgage so the club is paying for buying the club. All these supposed millions are Sheffield United FC earned money. Most of this is squandered on United World & his other foreign clubs. We do still owe him the £1 he paid for half of the club & the £5 M he paid for KMs shares. To be fair Abdullah has never said he's invested any of his own personal family money because he hasn't. All SUFC money goes direct to his United World bank account in Switzerland. So when he gives us some of the club's own money back he calls it money he's invested. Some fans are clued up to this. Others believe his sob story & swallow this scam.

What a load of bollocks

With the greatest of respect, this is totally unfair. The prince may not be loaded but he has backed the manager with cash for recruitment. It’s the managers who have spent the money badly. The latest player recruited just sums up how bad the recruitment is. My guess is the prince had no influence on the ludicrous decision to bring in Holgate.

You’ll have to try hard to get some to accept this. It suits some to claim “financial mismanagement” (a phrase few of those who use it understand) each and every season. The damage was done spending £100m, exacerbated by Covid effects on income, which did not prove successful. The opposite in fact. The transfer embargo was caused by financial mismanagement last year for example, its was cause seasons ago by poor policy decisions not least giving Wilder carte Blanche and shocking signings. Poor policy decisions that one can’t argue are still affecting the club. Nothing suggests change as thing stand.

The owner is the problem, it amazes me more people can’t see it. The way the club is run right now is appalling for a so called premier league team. Both Chris and Hecky managing with one arm tied behind their back.
Sooner he sells us the better.
Is this really you? If so, first celebrity Blade to post in here?

Just culled this from the Pork forum.

We're cursed.
Crap owners for about 30 years now, various combinations of no money or no plan.
I liked MM because we knew where we stood with him.

It's depressing really.

So all they need is a billionaire owner.

That's two football clubs in one city.
So it seems from a supply and demand perspective, that there is much demand yet little supply.

Billionaires where are you all ?

Hecky wanted to offer everyone a new contract, but Sharp and Stevens didn't get one. Abdullah controls whether or not contracts are offered, or who stopped Hecky giving them to certain players?

Similarly, the owner signs off on every transfer. We had a dog shit budget to strengthen our depleted squad, that's on Abdullah.

Age is no excuse for idiocy. This has to be the most ludicrous post ever on here. Not one word of truth, easily proven not to be factual in anyway and accuses the owner, board and senior employees of fraud and the PL, EFL and club auditors of turning a blind eye to it. An embittered liar.

So much to fix. We could be waiting for sometime to repair everything.

New Owner possibly.
New CEO
Director of Football
New Recruitment and Scouting teams
New Manager
New Coaches
Training ground upgrade.
Acadamy upgrade.

Possibly the biggest transformation needed in our history.

If Wilder was given more money he would have bought better players rather than the loan players. that how small the budget. only loan players. how do you expect to compete in the premier league with next to nowt?.any manager will struggle with that.

When he refers to United World doesn’t he just mean Paul Mitchel and his network of scouts?
Abdullah's United World owns us, his French club, Beerschot, Kerala United, Hilal United. We put the most money in the United World communal pot as the others don't earn as much as SUFC. This is the cause of us having to have freebies & loans. https://unitedworld.ch/

We had a Sheffield united budget, we aren't bloody city, Liverpool, Newcastle, we don't have anywhere near the levels of revenue of these sides, explain to me where this budget is supposed to magic itself from
