I wish I didn't have to say but...

You know you're gonna get blasted for posting an old article.

Some people have made up their minds already

:(
To be fair, that article was written last year, and I am absolutely certain that The Prince failed to meet Wilder’s ambitions in the following JTW.

Based on what?
Surely as joint owners, they both failed to meet Wilders ambitions?
Either way it’s not so much the amount of money which has disappointed Wilder it’s the fact that there is currently no agreed plan to take the club forward.

Sadly, it was and it did.

Your last point is true.

You mean, he can have 4 players from league 2 this summer!??

Lets hope if the Prince takes full control he doesn't turn us into Al-suab-dul-undu-haab-united FC

And on the front page.............................

Who travels by boat these days anyway? I've got myself a trip to New Jersey on one of those blimp thingies.

As you’re so adamant, alco, can I ask if it was just the Prince he wasn’t happy with and not McCabe? are was it both the Prince and McCabe that he wasn’t happy with?

I think it’s fair to say that Wilder and McCabe are on the same side.

Who knows? It seems to me that the disagreements have been going on for some time, maybe even before Wilder's appointment. It was telling that Wilder couldn't answer the question on how much of the Walker, Maguire, Murphy (promotion bonus) money he could have earlier this season. The owners have essentially put less money in the club this season than last season, due to this unbudgeted for income from sell on clauses.Wilder is probably thinking that unless there is significant developments, he will have to sell his best players to pay off the annual loses the sell ons have bridged this season. If you look at most of our recruitment, the players might well bought with an eye on next season when our better players are picked off. In particular Lee Evans, Lundstram, Leonard and Baldock. I think Holmes was bought purely due to the boardroom situation at Charlton allowing us to get him cheaply.I don't think it would have been unreasonable for Wilder to have expected a significantly bigger budget than he had in league one.

If you look at what we've spent on players v what we've made from selling them, you will see that the last time we spent more on players than what we made from selling them was 2005 - the year of our promotion to the Prem.

Since then we have every season, without fail, set out to run the club by making a profit on player sales. This isn't a quirk of fate or coincidence, it's a deliberate business strategy. That is our business model and it doesn't look like it's going to change soon. Not under the current ownership.

There's no plan here to borrow funds in Jan, to take a risk and try and push on for the Prem. If we were ever going to do that then last January was the best chance we've had since 2005 to do so - but we didn't. Instead we sent Chris shopping to Netto - and look what he came back with! And look where we are now - fallen short of what could have been an attainable target.

Sure, it's been a great season. Fabulous! I've loved almost every minute of it. I think Chris and the lads have given us something to be very proud of. BUT, don't make the mistake of thinking that we are now going to "strengthen" because there's nothing to support that whatsoever. We need to recruit several players to even have a hope of equalling this season's achievements, never mind bettering it.

I know I keep going on about it, but I'm really annoyed and frustrated that we didn't push on in Jan, what an opportunity that was, and one which I don't think will come around again next season, unless there's a change of ownership and significant investment in the squad.
