so we have Preston up next in the league.
Many on here were watching enviously as they assembled there new squad in summer...
how do you think we'll do??

early days yet this season and for me we haven't yet clicked into gear and are still sat in 3rd :)

I'll be there to find out. Looking forward to it.

We'll stuff 'em.

I'm going too. Never seen us win at PNE live so here's hoping.

PNE were thoroughly outplayed by MK Dons passing style for 45 mins last weekend. Second half they countered it and looked a decent team. They've a kid on the right wing who's very tricky, very quick, but unreliable in delivery. Need to keep an eye on him in case he has a good day. Beavon looked a decent footballer too, but their center backs looked like they could be rattled.

I'd take a draw.

Thought Cottrill was at Dony???

That one has drab 0-0 written all over it.
Less quality than a pair of Rattner's ear rings

Mr Matt "Sunshine Band" Bianco here...

1st defeat of the season for me. Hate playing Preston

Can just see us being bullied off the ball all the time.

Sorry for the negativity but first defeat of the season for me as well on Saturday.

If Simmo plays for them, we'll take all 3 points. It could be an interesting Simmo versus Long shoot out.

Everybody on here was shitting themselves when we went to play them last season.

We battered them 4-2.

I can see a defeat, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was a pleasant surprise at 5pm. Expect to lose, hope for a draw, be ecstatic with a win.

Do we know how many are going? We've been allocated 3k with an extra 1, which I'm assuming is that end behind the goal?

I'd be going were it not for work. The Enemy are playing in Preston in the evening too, for those that are interested in musak and that

3-1 Blades win. Fingers crossed that this is the week it all starts clicking into place!!:)

Do they still insist on putting you in the corner before spreading out toward the goal instead of actually letting fans start in the good seats. I hate that. The best seats being left empty is ridiculous from a paying customer point of view.

Last time I went I braved a terrific hangover that nearly made me sick on the rickety connecting train and then we lost three nil going two or three down in about ten minutes. The memory has never inspired me back.

I think this is winnable. I think being away can suit us. It'll be interesting to hear how aggressive they are.

Due to the fact that we're playing better away from home at the moment, I can't see us losing this one.;)

Is Alan Kelly still the keeping coach there after all the rearrangement over the summer? The stand at the other end is the Alan Kelly stand, but its named after his dad.

2 Alan Kellys, there's only 2 Alan Kellys

I can't make this one either, hating missing these games.

It's an odd view but as we haven't lost yet, I keep expecting us to lose the next game because it seems too good to be true!

Westley is a truly horrible manager, and he will be all over the fact we have an 18 year old in the net. It's going to be a tough afternoon for George Long so Maguire, Collins, Hill and McMahon are going to have to protect him well at set pieces. The first few they deliver will be right under the crossbar and they'll be looking to clatter him and unsettle him early.

must be double jobbin, as he's involved in the irish set up an all.

I predict a tough away win, followed by 3 more wins and a draw over next 5 matchs which will leave us breathin down that tramp from toytowns neck. The keeper is going to have to be well protected from these things tomorrow,as it could be nasty for the young un. Up to 2nd tomorrow. :) Oh we aint got a barrell of money.

A good win today - any comments from those who went? Did we take many?

Good following, in good voice. I can do without the 'Die, die, piggy piggy die' song though. We weren't that great, but took the points, George made a great save late on. We scored with our first shot on target, until then Kitson hadn't managed to pass to a United player all half. Mind you, although they played better than us in the first half, I can't remember George having a save to make. Wouldn't you have thought that bearing in mind we had an eighteen year old in goal, they'd have pressured him more. So hats off to our defence for protecting him. Good to see Collins come in as a sub. Wish Danny'd given Miller more than a few minutes. Still, I suppose he gets a win bonus :)
