I contacted FH Team to ask if they would consider putting supporters' questions to Chris Wilder at the pre-match presser.

They indicated that they would, and suggested that I post a thread inviting questions.

So here's the thread.

Clearly there's no guarantee that they will use any questions, but then again, they might.

Let's try to keep it to one question per poster so as many as possible get a bite of the cherry.

Over to you...

The team will be interesting. Can't see Seriki starting so the first 7 picks itself.

The 4 attacking players vs Bristol C I wouldn't start Saturday funnily enough. (Chong/Cannon/Ayew/BBD)

I think Donovan/Bamford/One give us more threats.

Cooper

Tanganga McGuinness Kitching Burrows

Arblaster Phillips

?????????????????????

We are currently out performing our XG by almost 5 goals, ranking 21st in big chances, 21st for shots on target and 23rd for touches in the opposition box. We also rank 20th for accurate crosses and 24th for corners this season. Despite this we are in the top half of the table, close to the playoffs, and its clear that the game plan is high quality chances with a high conversion rate by our players. Are you requiring the attacking players in the team to take more of a risk and be braver in the final third to improve our numbers so we don't have to rely on clinical shots to finish off games?

Foooookin' ell - that would illicit the Wilder death stare! 🤣
One of the press asked a similar question quite recently and CW did not like it one bit!

You’re a Utd supporter, whats your view on the managers performance so far this season and , on reflection what are the top three reasons why a growing number of the fan base are becoming actively frustrated with you ?
I'd love to hear his reply to that!

I'd ask it a different way. I'd say "Do you think football supporters in general are becoming more impatient and unforgiving? And does this negativity effect the players?"

I don't think this attitude is singular to Wilder. There's a growing tendency in society to demand entertainment and immediate gratification in the real world as well as on our phones. Not just at the Lane, it's happening at other clubs too.

As an older Blade, I've seen numerous times when our best players have been sold to fund running costs. All the way back to TC to Leeds. A mediocre season generally results or sometimes relegation. It's part and parcel of being a Blade.

This time seems different though. The criticism of the players and especially the manager have been through the roof - when we've not even been that bad.

I've seen plenty of Blades teams (and managers) that were poorer than this but they didn't get half the abuse. We are two points outside play-offs and barring a disaster aren't going down. Given the circumstances ie player sales and lack of funds I don't think we have too much to complain about really.

I'd be interested to hear if Wilder has anything to say about the attitudes of supporters today. Whether he thinks they have become less forgiving, and if he thinks the demand for constant success is growing.

Are we skint or have we been bought by a Billioaire?

Skint,

OK works for me

Why do you think you are qualified to be the Sheffield United football manager, given that there are dozens of people on a fans forum who consistently know better than you?

Are you are deliberately picking crap teams in the hope that we'll lose and you can get sacked before your contact ends and receive a payoff?
