Not really sure I am any wiser about him.
Firstly, it seems we're just a small cog in a big wheel in his fantasy lifestyle, we could have been anyone, if it wasn't Cardiff, it was Leeds, or Rangers, but he ended up with us because those deals went a bit off. Secondly, this whole waiting to announce it after the closing of the window may have had some legitimacy if we'd actually gone and bought some decent players on the sly. The fact that we didn't means that he's either a) switched on in which case he'll understand our slide and ways to halt it, or b) not as wealthy as we all hope.
I just don't understand the lack of investment when it could have been done before the window closed. If we're running scared of getting ripped off by L1 an d Championship clubs, I'm not sure how we'd ever make the step up in the near/mid-future to a higher level.
I maybe completely wrong, but perhaps he wants to see how Weir performs as manager with what he's got (Plus maybe a few loans) over the next couple of months or so before allowing him to spend the transfer budget (however much or little that may be). After all, there is no point in letting a manager use up your funds if you don't have complete confidence in him. Makes more sense to give him more limited funds that he can use on loan players. That way you don't blow your budget, any new manager has the funds at his disposal and you aren't stuck with players you no longer want as they go back at the end of the loan period.
Don't know if this is the case, but it seems feasible. I feel a bit sorry for Weir. He has inherited very weak side and is clearly under pressure to get results, but so far hasn't really had the funds to make 'game changing' alterations. I'm quite impressed with his more recent acquisitions, but like everyone else am worried by our poor results.
