Not really sure I am any wiser about him.

Firstly, it seems we're just a small cog in a big wheel in his fantasy lifestyle, we could have been anyone, if it wasn't Cardiff, it was Leeds, or Rangers, but he ended up with us because those deals went a bit off. Secondly, this whole waiting to announce it after the closing of the window may have had some legitimacy if we'd actually gone and bought some decent players on the sly. The fact that we didn't means that he's either a) switched on in which case he'll understand our slide and ways to halt it, or b) not as wealthy as we all hope.

I just don't understand the lack of investment when it could have been done before the window closed. If we're running scared of getting ripped off by L1 an d Championship clubs, I'm not sure how we'd ever make the step up in the near/mid-future to a higher level.

I maybe completely wrong, but perhaps he wants to see how Weir performs as manager with what he's got (Plus maybe a few loans) over the next couple of months or so before allowing him to spend the transfer budget (however much or little that may be). After all, there is no point in letting a manager use up your funds if you don't have complete confidence in him. Makes more sense to give him more limited funds that he can use on loan players. That way you don't blow your budget, any new manager has the funds at his disposal and you aren't stuck with players you no longer want as they go back at the end of the loan period.

Don't know if this is the case, but it seems feasible. I feel a bit sorry for Weir. He has inherited very weak side and is clearly under pressure to get results, but so far hasn't really had the funds to make 'game changing' alterations. I'm quite impressed with his more recent acquisitions, but like everyone else am worried by our poor results.

McCabe may have said the debts have been written off, personally i don't believe him. I'm pretty sure he's got a clause in there somewhere that could get him his money back somehow. Either payment on promotion to the EPL or rent for Bramall Lane or summat. Obviously he still owns half the club, so if were succesful, he can pretty much do what he wants anyway.

All he's really done imo is deferred the money, which is no different to how it was already. It's not like he was in any danger of getting his money back anytime soon as it was. Not that i have a problem with that. Just hate the spin he has to put on everything.

I think you will find that there´s quite a few clubs that don´t own their grounds..In some countries it would even be regarded as a bit odd.

Like everyone else I'm guessing but the key debts were £20m to McCabe companies and £8.5m to Santander.

I think the bulk of the inter company debts probably moved to the plc when the ground and Shirecliffe moved. I have no problem with this arrangement in order to allow Abdullah to invest and then share the gains if they succeed.

I'm not convinced the final West Ham payment covered all the Santander loan but McCabe must have cleared all remaining debt in the football club.

I bet there is another win / win for McCabe. He has jettisoned Jacob but I very much doubt he has jettisoned his construction plans for Nigeria (forecast for highest growth in the world in the next few years).

Abdullah wants to expand his paper business to Africa.

I bet McCabe will now seek his Investment money and partnerships for this in the Middle East now

Just out of curiosity, do MCFC own Eastlands?

Etihad is so.....corporate. Might be its name now but I will always call it eastlands :-)

Mic will know.

The answer is the council owns the stadium but MCFC own the huge tracts around it for the Etihad campus

Not only the for the campus, but the reason why MCFC don´t own the stadium right now is that the money would go to Sport England and not the council, so the council earns a rent as long as the stadium is functional.
In due time a brand new stadium must be built but right now it suits the council and MCFC to have it this way.

It all comes down to trust. Do we trust KM in what he says and what he does. I would say (and prob many others on here) is a big "NO".

I'm not too bothered who owns our club if it means we play good football, work hard and get back into the championship. The issue is, can we trust KM not to sell BL if he needs the money in the future or to knock it down and sell the land. The amount of lies he has told in the past doesn't help his cause.

In regards to the claim about not confirming the new investment due to club inflating prices is just utter blocks

Wasnt mccabe that said that though was it? So I guess the new owner is a liar too now ?
Maybe youre the one talking blocks

Does it really matters that the ground is in a separate company? It´s standard in the Bundesliga and not uncommon in England. As for say Italy private grounds are very few and in many countries almost non-existent

Of course it matters. The ground has been with the Club for 125 years, belonging to SUFC, now we live there but it belongs to a company that isn't the Club. It's not a new-build on an out-of-town development, or a taxpayer funded development for the townspeople, it's evolved over decades by the club and funded by generations of fans and a massive part of our heritage.

No, just you. You do enough for the rest of us.

My point still stands tho. Do we trust KM in not selling the ground if he needs the money.

But to whom? I doubt that the council would approve a change of use to the plot..Apart from the possibility of contracts already signed between Prince Abdullah and KM and other legal twists.

On the face of it, despite the grief he got, it looks like Kevin McCabe made the right moves in this case, but as ever, we'll see what happens going forwards.

Sorry, can't let you get away with that. Feel the wrath of Mr Mitchell.

:)

My understanding, from what I have heard and read - I am not ITK - is that KM and PA wanted to keep this under wraps until after the tranny window closed so they could get players for less money if the selling club was not aware of the financial clout we now had. The news came out though because someone spilt the beans too early by leaking a memo. This scuppered the stealth purchasing plans and is probably the main reason we didn't get the Coventry pair prior to the window closing. To minimise the impact they had to admit that a backer had agreed the deal but it must have had an effect on the potential dealings prior to 2nd Sept.

Yet again someone undermining the club - some piggy connection or somebody too excited to keep their gob shut.
