Rumour has it, we'll be signing a premiership player later today.

Looks about right, another nobody from a prem club gonna want massive wages for doing f***k all. I hope i'm wrong about it and that he's the new Michael Brown but i won't hold my breath.

Is that as in "Prem Ace Signs" as in the Star getting their knickers in a twist over a player with four appearances, three as a substitute, thereby stretching the term "Prem Ace" to its broadest possible meaning?
Or could we be signing somebody those of us who don't base our knowledge solely on computer games have actually heard of? Will it be somebody young or somebody past it? Or perhaps like Beattie, a player wanting to rediscover past glories and then fuck off?

Even as a football manager veteran, I can't recall coming across Treacy (as apposed to Andy Taylor who crops up frequently and is overall a good player). I do sometimes find it hard to distinguish between real life and football manager though...

Finally, someone here who lives in my world! :D

Haha, I was close to responding the the Paddy ban with "why do we need Paddy? We have Gregory Coupet!" It's a strange existence but one I'm completely comfortable with.:D

I've heard that its one of 2 players, a) Ched Evans b) Leroy Lita.

The problem I have is that if it is either of them, Ched Evans is NOT a prem ace.

Leroy Lita snubbed us in January and as far as im concearned if we weren't good enough then, we aren't now, and we shouldn't be trying to sign players that 6 months ago snubbed is hoping for a better deal.

Still there only rumours I've heard. With any luck Liverpool will be flogging Gerrard on cheap if he gets found guilty in court today and United can try and do a cut price deal that would see Stephen Quinn move the other way....

No thanks, would rather keep Quinny  than have that cheating primadona thug scouser, hope he does a stretch, would laff my ass off! :D

Why not sign Sonic the Hedgehog, or Mario? That leopard headed-one from Tekken, or Donkey Kong?
They too have the interweb nerds spaffing their pants.

Sonic would be a great signing!

I was refering to someone earlier that mentioned Football manager. How can you know if he's good just because Man U signed him on a game

Let's not forget that The Star also quoted Wednesday were after a "Premier Ace".

This turned out to be Ryan France...

It could be anybody.

Have you really seen him in his No.9 shorts?

I saw someone in town at lunchtime who looked an awful lot like Roy Carroll. He was carrying a kit bag in the direction of the St Paul hotel.

Yup. Nailed on. Dunno about Carroll though, not seen him. Couldn't miss his gorgeous face.

One of my City supporting mates who I was talking to yesterday reckons he'll do a good job for us. Mind you, he did start off on the phone by saying 'how comes you're selling all your defenders?'

I told him it's because we're not rich like them ;)

I can totally relate to that
