I think he means, they only have to provide 3,000 instead of 10% which would be 7,500, especially in Man Utd's case.

IIRC they give away more in the FA Cup.

That's what I mean, I think we've got 2990 in the lower and we've had to ask for special permission because it isn't 10%, or quite the 3000 minimum according to something I've read, probably on here.

Seems bizarre that we and I assume a number of other Premier League clubs have to make 'improvements' to comply with league requirements but 2 clubs just get dispensation, obviously I'm in the, 'where there is a will, there is a way' camp.

Its not like Man U and Liverpool are exempt from VAR when they are playing at home, there just isnt a big screen to show replays in the ground. That's it. They arent going to get beneficial decisions etc etc as some of the more paranoid on here seem to think just because there's no screen. Their grounds havent got screens and i'd imagine its not so simple just to chuck them up in any old corner.

We've had to update our ground as it wasn't fit for purpose for Premier League rules. Man U / Liverpool's stadium is, bar a big screen. Wish my life was so simple that this is all i had to worry about!

Screens aren’t a PL requirement so United & Southampton would ‘get away’ with that one.

We would still have lost. But had we scored the resulting penalty the improvement in gd would have meant we would have stayed up.

I’m curious what would happen should we be relegated. It would seem pointless and expensive to remove them once they’d been installed?

It will use the camera angles from that match, certainly not 27. That figure might be for the World Cup where more cameras are used.

I do find it strange that Bournemouth haven’t expanded their ground yet. The have done the impossible and stabilised themselves in the Prem. Having such a large catchment area down there you’d be confident of at least doubling the crowds straight away.

Would be interesting how Bournmouth have adhered to all these premiership regulations which we are doing pre-season, with a postage stamp stadium.

Who are loaded with an oligarch (russian ) owning the club if they did then it stinks of southern byes

In fairness they have expanded the ground - when they went up to the Premiership they only had 3 stands. The 4th stand was only put up immediately before the start of their first season (it was a low open terrace previously).

Not sure about the large catchment area - everything to the south is the sea and Southampton is only 30 odd miles to the east.

That one goal would have kept us up.

(However we scored an offside winner at Watford that would now be ruled out so swings and roundabouts)
