Absoutely 100%, and it's clearly in our transfer strategy hence why we look to sign guys at 22/23 so they retain this value. It's also why we take risks on the likes of Moose as he could give us a huge return with only a single positive full season at this level.I think we’ll also have to trade. Other clubs have benefitted from big paying sales from which they’ve reinvested the money back into the club. For example, Leicester could increase their wage bill by more than £20m for three years just on what they received for Maguire. It’s how Spurs went from a mid table side under Sugar to a top six side under ENIC, despite having a very low net transfer spend and very little investment from the owners. Obviously they’ll be tears when this happens.
I may be being overly hopeful, but I think the likes of JoC, Egan, Baldock, Stevens, Norwood and even McBurnie are likely to stay longer term and not have their heads turned so we'd retain a core but absolutely the Leicester model should be the next one we look to emulate once we retain our Premier League status at the end of this season.
