Does anyone know how Fulham are able to field no fewer than 7 loan players tonight?

Loftus Cheek on loan from Chelsea
Lemina on loan from Southampton
Lookman on loan from RB Leipzig

Have I missed something ?

I can only assume the championship rule of no more than 5 in the squad doesn't apply in the PL?

Something about 7 of your 11 being loans doesn't sit right with me? 20 point deduction ?

Think it's only an EFL rule. Guess it's wages, but it's a shame we didn't use the loan system better when we knew JOC was out for the season while the summer transfer window was still open.

I was under the impression it is 2 domestic & 2 foreign.That was the impression I got with Wilder saying something similar.
Fulham must know the rules taking as many loans as that

No. PL has a 2 domestic loan restriction but unlimited overseas. Championship has a 5 matchday squad limit (domestic + overseas).

Nobody in the s2 rumour mill ever mentioned we could have so many loans from overseas!

We were all under the impression it was 2 domestic loans plus one (or two?) from overseas.

Presumably Fulham had an official rulebook.

I reckon a lot of those loans are with a view to buy if premiership status is maintained.Fulham got caught out last time they were relegated ,spent a lot of money.
Some of these players will be on more than there contract terms at there parent club so I imagine they will fight tooth and nail to stay up.
As someone said money talks.

I was under the impression it was two domestic and one overseas this season, I do remember a few year ago Watford seemed to be half full of Udinese players. I'm not meant to know the rules though but you would think the club should know them. Scouting is another area where the club need to catch up fast.

Loans from national associations (with exception of Welsh clubs in english pyramid) are not subject to the restrictions of 4 in a season. Therefore Fulham can play 11 on loan players as long as only 2 are Prem and 2 are championship/league1/league2 loans.

I was going to ask the same question! In the ttached article it says Fulham can only play five loans in a matchday squad but that must be wrong. If Fulham go down they'll revert back to the team that got them promoted most likely. Their wage bill is much higher than ours to afford these loan players wages and loan fees.

I came to start a thread on this based on Martin Keowns comments last night.

I thought it was 2 domestic, 2 overseas.

This has just pissed me off. We've been passing about with a depleted squad and we could've gone out to all the top European clubs and loaned their best reserves FFS.
