Noticed that when ever we were building up a spell of pressure against QPR where we had them under the cosh.
Then a QPR player would simply fall down holding their leg, claiming they had cramp, so it wasn't even a foul by our player.

The irony is when we reach the PL then it will be Hecky encouraging his team to do some time wasting but probably not as bare faced as QPR.

But the ref should only stop the game for a head injury, it is inadequate refereeing that is the problem. As soon as the cheating player realised he is being ignored he is soon back on his feet in addition any player who goes down should be obliged to have the trainer on and subsequently removed from the field

We have done it before but not on the sorts of levels the likes of QPR and other clubs do.

A bit of timewasting on throws, goal kicks and free kicks but not seen the sort of shit that Birmingham were up to. Players struggling to come off looking like their leg was about to drop off only to run straight back on. If the ref had any bollocks he should have booked them for that.

It would all come to a stop if a few more cards were waived about. Its actually quite an easy problem for the refs to clamp down on.

Let's be honest, how long to keepers hold on to balls? Some over a minute. There are rules to stop that but never enforced in the first 70 minutes of a game. An the time it takes players, including our own, to take a throw in when we're trying to slow a game down, is ridiculous.

I was expecting an average of 7 minutes injury time this season and it started out that way but now it's down to 4 or 5. I thought it was 30 seconds per sub and goal plus whatever else. Makes no sense to me.

Very true. We'll have no problem with this when it suits us. The answer, which I'm sure would be slated by many is to have a 60 minute, stop watch match in proffesional football. That would last about 90-100 minutes and would mean more ball in play than 99% of games currently.

It would totally negate timewasting but not the faling to the floor to break momentum up. I guess that on the 60 minute timer, the game goes on until the ball goes out of play.

The big problem is how does this translate, down the football pyramid where requiring a seperate timekeeper isn't possible.

It's gamesmanship and we're going to have to get used to it. We're not going to revolutionise the way the game is refereed and we can't influence the tactics of other teams. Would rather we didn't moan about it.

The refs let it happen because most of them are fat overweight cunts who aren’t fit enough so it helps them out if the game is slowed down. Pathetic, useless twats.

I saw the ref tell the Millwall keeper to hurry things up, very early in the game in August.

You can’t really stop timewasting but you can make it pointless. Take timekeeping off the referee, have a countdown clock in full view of everyone, started and stopped by a “5th” official. You then effectively get rid of injury time.

The ref should stop the game if there is a head injury or he deems the injury to be serious. I agree that it is stopped far too often for no good reason

Was going to put something similar. In the tech age we're in the 5th official could simply be AI. Play the actual added-on time (10+ mins) in all games and as more goals and scored due to tired legs the 'gamesmanship' will soon fck off.
