I'm not ITK. So, the following is based on by eye, empirical evidence. Both La Manga in 2016 & Malaga in 2017 were very much "early in the process training & bonding camps, with whatever game they could get tacked on the end"

They were not pre season tours in the accepted sense. If La Manga/Malaga are Wilder's preferred model. And if it's Portugal, that would point to the team going out there around 8 July & playing a game towards the end of that week. Note, it is reasonably common for two or more English clubs to be away at camp at the same time. Games such as Middlesbrough v Oxford in Albufeira have happened in the past.
The Whitby Cup is 25 & 29 July. In past years, clubs have tended to send U23 or Youth Teams to Whitby, not First Teams.
