Pre season abroad?

Anyone heard any rumours if we’re going back to Spain? I do wish they could give us a little more time when it comes to pre season games abroad. Suppose it’s the nature of the game though as if we were promoted to the premier league I’m sure we’d be flying to further flung places.

Like you say, flights, accommodation and time off work are the main barriers and only finding these out 4-8 weeks before isn’t the best !

Ahh the old 70's pre-season tours to Scotland with games against St Mirren, Dundee and Ayr bring them back i say.
Or better still bring back the old Anglo Scottish cup.

In 1975 or 76, the pre-season tour was Nantes, Ostend and Heracles in Holland. Here's my recollections.

That was such a fantastic effort it meant I could get boozy and not get a hire car or fork out for a taxi to the middle of nowhere

That day/evening was one of my favourite moments as a blade. To get the numbers we did to a friendly game in the middle of nowhere, with little/no official help was amazing. If there were 2k there, then with proper planning & notice and played in properly accessible area, then there'd have been double there. It was the equivalent of someone organising a friendly with the blades and playing it on kinder scout.
