The tone of opposition fans comments has changed a bit since day one hasn't it.?

Not so much "hit and hope" cloggers" "relegation fodder" and such is there?

We impressed a lot of neutrals on Sunday, and we will now have lost the 'surprise' factor. Just something else we have to deal with if we have ambitions of moving higher up the ladder, which I'm certain is the case, with Tufty at least.

In a nutshell, what Wilder/Knill have turned us into in little over a year

Incredible isn't it? It's worth remembering that a few months earlier we were a complete fucking shambles under Adkins with signings like Hammond, Woolford and Sammon in the team. To bring this club from that low to where we are now is an incredible achievement (regardless of what may or may not happen in the future).

Wow didn't expect that!

We're frightening a few aren't we?

As I said on another thread this is a massive test given their start and investment but as long as we do ourselves justice and play how we can we can get something. Big ask after Sunday but if anyone can get them back to the same standard again it's our two.

BL needs to be bouncing (see what I did there?) too.:)

In CW & AK we trust!

I'm not sure they are showing us respect with some of those comments. A number are not giving us sufficient credit for Sunday - more down to how crap Wednesday were.

On Sunday we laid to rest the nightmare of 1979. Hope tomorrow we can put to rest the nightmare play off final of 2003.

Showing us a lot of respect which could be a good sign. They must see cracks in what looks like their great form, would take a point.
I don't want opposition fans giving us respect! I want them to say we're crap, a pub team, nothing special, average team. This is all getting too much for me. :(
Seriously, I am a bit worried about the game after that amazing performance Sunday.

Back in the noughties we were seen as a very good, strong championship team, one that would always be up there. After our 6 years in the wilderness I thought it would take a few seasons for us to get back to our former reputation. In the space of 9 games we seem to be back where we were, in terms of reputation. This time though, we are also being lauded for the way we play, the first time really since the Woody and Currie days. For opposition fans to describe our play as 'fantastic', is actually quite amazing and no less satisfying.

Keep mentioning we don't have any well known players, who the fuck have they got ?, could only name you Coady. Another supposedly arrogant "established" championship side.

Biggest spenders in the division possibly and the comments are respectful, times are changing it seems, people are starting to judge us on our form under wilder and knill and not on old values from the past, our performances last season were good but nobody daw them, this season people are seeing us more and on sky I liked the comment " there will be no exit on to leppings lane" I'd forgotten about that, how many times did she say it.

Cheers Roy. It'll be a tough game but I reckon we can get something out of it!!. In wilder we trust. Utb

“Sheffield utd are going to be very tough to beat.”

We're starting to get noticed. After a short amount of time in this league that is an achievement in itself.

Wolves have got a lot of pretty boys playing for them...Need to slap a few early doors..and show them whose boss!!

they're confident, respectful and don't appear arrogant. weirdos.

i think it's going to be a hell of a game.

Cheers Roy.

Largely fair comments I thought. They're a decent side and it will be a good benchmark for where we are at.

Norwich manager had already taken note and adopted a tactic to deal with us.

I don’t think Wolves manager will show the same respect and will feel his side is too good....which could be a mistake. A lot is said about being the right time to play someone, and this could work for both clubs.

Travelling up here for a Wednesday night match against a team that is on the crest of a wave after thumping their close neighbours could be daunting for a few foreign players not used to that kind of competitiveness in their country.
On the other hand, United playing a side with the talent they have only three days after a physically and mentally draining game against your neighbours could see them a little flat. Coming down from that high can make some go very low.

Personally, IMHO I would have preferred a week to get over the game. Will see if I am right.

Their lads from Porto will know all about competitiveness, the games with Benfica can be somewhat spicy!

Keep mentioning we don't have any well known players, who the fuck have they got ?, could only name you Coady. Another supposedly arrogant "established" championship side.
That's good news, we don't everyone to know our players and then steal them. Interesting that Brooks is the exception, we were on the train with some Leicester fans going to Huddersfield when we played Norwich and all of them were talking about him. I hope Harry doesn't try to get him to move.

Some good comments to be fair. Always liked Wolves the most out of the midlands teams, proper club.

This will definitely be tough. Strangely, I think i would be more confident if we were away for this one. Think we will be buzzing with confidence, but perhaps also a little tired. Who knows, i'm sure the players will be up for it as ever.

Thanks for the interesting read as always. It does seem that more teams and their supporters now are starting to believe that our team can give theirs a game and a run for their money. Having said that, there are always going to be the delusional few that can't ever dream of any team being better than theirs, even on a Sunday game (Snigger).

third of them deluded, third of them reasonable, third of them a bit skeptic, not a bad bunch, at least a few admit that it won't be easy for them
