Really dislike this passion thing. I'm passionate, the fans are passionate, and the way we are playing, and watching us at BL, makes me jump up and down and sing a lot - I'm excited and passionate about what's happening at the Lane. Wednesday fans go on about it on RS every night; Wilder is a Blade = passion.
However, Wilder is not a passionate manager. I'd go as far as saying he is the opposite of passion - that he even dispels passion in the team - any player 'up for it' is roundly spoken to and told to calm down.
Wilder is logic. He plans. He sets out a system and drills the players on how to play. Each game is a tactical method of how to win. Who should play where and how they should play. Don't shoot aimlessly and give away a goal-kick, don't cross if nobody is there and allow the opposition to launch an attack. Keep the ball, play the game and try to score. I think wilder must laugh a little when he hears "Passion" and "a Striker with pace". He has his own way of looking at the game.
It's not the old "go on lads, give em hell, let's do it for the Blades!". It's a very calm team talk making sure each player knows exactly what to do, and sticking to his logical game plan.
Well, that's just my opinion!
