It might be over 40 points, my original comment was aimed at someone suggesting it would be 44 points. I can't see it.
Ha ha, well I'll feel confortable if and when we are passed 44 points

Patience my friend, there will be plenty of time after the game for the hostilities with the defenceless......Thanks Roy (an especially busy week for you too!) I can't handle the compliments from the Palace contingent-no snideyness, bitter comments and stereotypical attitudes to our style of play? Its just not good enough. I demand unsubstantiated tales of kidney punching old people and kicking disabled children.
I need a cup of hot sweet tea and a sit down...
I still think it will be over 40 points. Normally the top 5/6 teams tend to dominate and the other teams get steam rollered a little bit. This season it's only really Liverpool and Man City that are a cut above the rest (and City have wobbles). Also, even the likes of Norwich are competitive and have fight in them.
For it to be over 40 points, 3 of the bottom 6 will have to improve on the points per game they have gained so far. Certainly not impossible but quite unlikely
But where are these points coming from? If they're coming from those around them, and they're going to have to, they can't all be hitting the 40+ mark for safety.I still think it will be over 40 points. Been thinking the same, 37/38.It would be unprecedented, 2002/3 is the only season it's gone above 40 points. Bournemouth are 18th, they have 0.93 points per game thus far and 14 games left. I'd say 38 points will be the total required.

Not so long ago someone on here reckoned 45 points required and what's more there were others in agreement.Cheers Roy, 44 points to stay up?! Are they mental.

That means West Ham, Brighton, Aston Villa, West Ham, Bournemouth, Watford all getting at least 4 more wins.
Arsenal, Crystal Palace, Everton, Burnley, Newcastle would also need around 3 for safety. Obviously there will be a few draws thrown in, but if you look at the fixtures it would take some quirk of fate for those results to play out.
Wendy went down with 43 points from 38 games in 1990 and Palace went down with 49 points from 42 games in 1993Not so long ago someone on here reckoned 45 points required and what's more there were others in agreement.
Maybe so but that aint gunna happen this season and that's still less than 45 required.Wendy went down with 43 points from 38 games in 1990 and Palace went down with 49 points from 42 games in 1993
