I was wondering which end of the Ferret would be safer.. ........ asking fir a friend obviously
I'm enjoying the way teams think "overlapping centre-backs" means we literally play a 1-7-2 formation and hang the consequences.
Friday morning is Pre Match View time. Don't accuse me of selling my soul![]()
I’m confused. Does that mean you are, or aren’t now going ferret shagging?Hmmmm, ferret shaggers...
Just changed my plans for the weekend, has that
Depends on how many loyalty points they have and if they are registered members. If I take my ferret will it count in the attendance figures?
Think that was in reference to them stopping us.“Ugly ugly football”
Wow yet another set of clueless twats.
Also Crystal Palace are not a bigger club than united.
Keep any thing dangly away from the front end of ferrets ... been told by a friend.I was wondering which end of the Ferret would be safer.. ........ asking fir a friend obviously![]()
It's hard to talk about our system without sounding pretentious and I'm not surprised that teams who haven't watched us think we're just some gung ho team waiting to get taught a lesson by the more disciplined, more skilled, Prem teams. Thing is, we had the best defence in the division. Granted we achieved that in no small part by holding possession and pinning teams back, but we barely conceded a goal on the counter. The centre backs don't just charge up the pitch and leave space, Fleck and Norwood drop into position to cover. They'll spend time in the game where they drop into centre half and full back positions. While they aren't as strong in the air they certainly aren't more likely to get beaten in a race than our defenders and that protects us on the counter as well as any team. At the same time, Egan is there as a more traditional stopper and so we always have a proper centre back in position.
The Wilder system isn't about throwing players aimlessly forward, it's about having a very technically proficient and intelligent group of players who are capable of the fluidity required to play multiple positions. When it works, it's the closest thing to Total Football you're likely to see.
Now, if all the Palace fans (and others we'll play) want to say is "Yeah, but we've got the likes of Zaha and they're a shit ton better than anything you've had to play against in the last three seasons" then, sure, fucking obviously. You think I'm going to be surprised if Mo Salah makes Basham look like a mug? He can do that to anyone. I will not be shocked or even disappointed if it turns out that the rest of the division just have better players than we do. What we aren't going to see is that our system is a lame gimmick. It's solid as a rock.
Thanks Roy, was hoping to get a day in advance bonus![]()
Pre-Match View From Crystal Palace — The View From
“Perfect first home game for SU, unless Wilf plays and is focussed, and Townsend gets his act together.” “Wilder is a very strong tactician - and they play with ‘over lapping centre backs’ which overloads the defence, and overcomes traditional organised two banks of four. May create space for us...roysviewfrom.com
Do we need to take ferrets as well!I think we should all take a flat cap to the Lane, it would look brilliant if 90% of the crowd had them on when the cameras panned around.
Only if its got the required points.Do we need to take ferrets as well!
This view from reminds me a lot of the view froms when we first came up from League one, the Brentford one very much springs to mind.
A lot of typical London arrogance in those comments.
That false narrative about us only getting promotion due to Leeds Bottling it is getting tiresome now as well.
