I thought this would have passed by now to be honest, I believe it stems from the late 90's when we beat them in the play offs and also due to Mauricio Tarrico who dived for a penalty when we were 2 - 0 up and got the pen. The game finished 2 - 2 and our fans were understandabily miffed about it. That was in the same season as the play offs when they came to the Lane and drew 1 - 1 when Jan-Aage scored for us and Micky Stockwell for them. They were very confident that they would get through in the second leg - after all all they needed was a 0 - 0 draw to go through on away goals and of course they were at home.

But they didn't realise that we hadn't read the script and Andy Walker equalised (despite the most blatant push you'll ever see on Walker) and we went through on away goals!

Presumably Ipswich still harbour a grudge even though it was them and not us that cheated in the League game. I believe they called us the Norwich of the North then. We on the other hand didn't seem to be as bothered.

No, we had a corner at the Lane End just before half time. Before the corner was taken, Dane Whitehouse got irritated with Tarrico being in his face so he tried to brush him off and Tarrico fell on the floor as if he got shot. Ref then gave Dane the red card. This was in Sept 1995, not in the same season as we played in the play offs

I don’t think I’d realised till rewatching that quite how much he was pushed – he was essentially shoved straight into the post!

Highlight of the highlights is without a doubt Fjortoft confronting Taricco at full-time.
 
It could be better to hold fire and have a points deduction at the start of next season, just imagine, they get relegated this season and have a 15 point deduction at the start of life in the third tier, bottom three at Christmas! Think about it, Steve Bruce gets the sack just before Christmas and the debt has gone stratospheric , now whats that song "oh happy days" god the moonshine was sweet tonight.
 
They're bottom of the league, our league record at Portman Road is pretty shit, 0-0 tomorrow.
 
Just been to my works xmas do in Ipswich. The locals think we will smash em tomorrow
