Article on the Star website this afternoon saying that Barnsley top the arrests’ list in South Yorks so far this season (Blades second).

Part of me thinks they’re only top due to being easier to pick out in a crowd. The police only need to spot anyone with 6 fingers, and/or who resembles Sloth from the Goonies.

Strangely, we were talking about this just last Sunday. Some of my friends are younger than me (who isn't?) and they could hardly believe it when I told them about the bloke who used to put the scores up on the pavilion. Can't remember the Ipswich game (I was there, but doubt if they would put the scores up for the game we were watching?), but I remember once the pigs were at Middlesborough and it was 6-0 into the second half. When the 'scorer' bloke re-appeared, a mighty roar went up. It was 8-0, but he didn't have an '8' so picked up a '2' and held it next to the '6' and gestured that we should add the two scores together. Simple times.
April 1974 after we drew 1-1 to QPR. I was one of the many in the BLUT who didnt want to go home until we found out the final score at Ayresome Park!

So was I. I was also one of maybe 150 Blades at Palace seven days later when we were trounced 5-1. That’s football...
Before that 5-1 defeat at Palace my dad spotted Tony Mercer sitting near us. I had no idea who he was and my dad asked me to get Tony's autograph so I went over to get it. Tony was pleasant and it was the first time I had met a Blade who is a celebrity I think his uncle was David Mercer who played for us in the 1925 FA Cup final

Go SUFC and hope the nutters dont turn up UTB

An attempt at peace-making. I think everyone who posts on here disapproves of recent acts of violence from a tiny minority of Blades hangers-on. I think we also all accept that there has been distortion and exaggeration of the violence involved (compare the story of the young child thrown out of the Grenfell Tower and caught by a man below - it never happened).
Can we all accept those 2 points, so that when someone condemns the violence, the replies are not 'But what about the exaggeration?', and when someone condemns the mis-reporting, the reply isn't 'But we must condemn the violence.' There is plenty to discuss around these 2 issues, but too often it becomes a dialogue of the deaf.

Well I'm certainly going down on one knee if they play the US anthem before the match tomorrow.

They forgot some Blades fans took on Middlesborough and England fans last week.

A punch to the kidneys for everyone!

I was there at the 7-0 thrashing they refer to, what a great day that was :)
That was an amazing game Badger scored a rare goal from distance and Woody just couldn't stop scoring.Ipswich had a fair amount of the ball and to lose 7-0 was not a fair reflection of the game .
Bobby Robson was there manager and Ipswich were a good team in those days.

I quite enjoy everyone thinking we're a right bunch of bastards. It's amusing because we know it's bollocks. Of course there's the odd knobhead, but find me a club that doesn't have 'em?

Yarbles to Ipshit and their donkey fondling beige fans.

Yarbles, nice to see someone else use it.

Hears to thee and thine.

Never forgive, never forget.
Yes...absolutely a cheating cunt. I remember he got a player sent off by his antics in a play off at their place...and i think it was Kelly in goal and he got badly injured but we had no subs left. I remember it was frantic and being a Spanish speaker i was shouting all sorts of abuse at in e.g. your mother is a whore....and worse. He got really upset...good ! Fucking cheat.
Think we drew...enough to go through. UTB

Pretty sure an old Ipswich away programme had a "I hate Sheffield United and Sheffield United hate me" quote in it from him. He was right

Used to spend a bit of time in Ipswich years ago and there does appear to be a higher proportion of odd balls compared to most places.

They also seem to think we're all nutters. Remember one Saturday night out down there and me and a couple of mates are queuing for food. One was singing United songs and this group of local lads asked if we were Man U.

When we said no Sheff U they legged it looking worried :D

As if that made us more intimidating which we certainly didn't look.

Don't go shouting 'Hijo de puta' today if you are anywhere near the directors' box; we wouldn't want to offend our East Anglian guests, would we?
