It's not the all time record. That's 122 by Middlesbrough in 1926-7, a 42 game season."Can we get 3 at Sheffield United? This would mean we break the all time second division scoring record set by Manchester City in 2002 of 108!"
Can anyone confirm this really would be the "all time" second division record? Or would it be the record since the second division was renamed?
Isn’t this why we love the game?Such a bad feeling about this
Well done. It's not the all time record. That's 122 by Middlesbrough in 1926-7, a 42 game season.
This creation of new records because they changed the name is pathetic. Plus in any event City did it before they changed the name.
I can remember when they were a team the size of Leyton Orient averaging 4k fans, the most famous of whom was Wolfie Smith.
Really starting to dislike the arrogant twats now.
Absolutely with you on this.Isn’t this why we love the game?
Could get smashed tomorrow, could play a blinder and win and grab 5th spot.
We just need to get behind the lads and do our bit to help them.
Yep - (average 2 per game) and we've collected 52 points from 26 games under Hecky - I've not checked but I suspect Fulham haven't done as well in the last 26 games. You’ve collected 90 points from 45 games, standard promotion numbers
I was never more certain of victory in 2006-7 than when we played them at the Lane. Night game in the north? Not the sort of game they were going to win. That little turd of a club hasn’t generally enjoyed venturing up to nasty Sheffield United’s ground. Just 5 wins in 33 visits - they usually don’t really fancy it.
Moreover, this ‘best team the Championship has ever seen’ hasn’t really cut the mustard when coming up against the better teams in the division. Drew with Bournemouth twice, lost to Forest, lost to Huddersfield, and lost to United.
Granted they been an excellent ‘flat-track bully’ and thrashed a lot of the dross in the division but they don’t really register amongst some of the best sides who’ve gone up from the Championship in recent years.
Aren’t they one of those clubs that rely at home on those cardboard clapping things, like Leicester and Bournemouth. They might find it difficult to take control of any atmosphere if they haven’t been

Wasn't the final day, but those 3 points would have sent them down I think."Also, we wouldnt want to be accused of trying to influence the outcome of the playoffs by not taking the last game seriously!”
That's rich, given that they sent us down in 2007 by having the good fortune of Liverpool play a reserve side against them on the final day.
Whatever happens tomorrow, I am glad that this team have regained their self-respect.Isn’t this why we love the game?
