Thank you as always Roy
Having looked back again at the highlights of the 4-5 game at BDTBL it was the disaster of a back pass from CCV for goal 1 plus CCV's inability to stay on his feet and turn for goal 2 that totally shifted the momentum in the game that night.
I think both teams are different propositions now, they are on a great run and we have recovered from the loss of Coutts which had only just happened before the first game.
Be a tough night and I think the key will be not to concede early like Derby did on Saturday they were 2 down in 22 minutes and chasing the game.
Be a nice present if Sessegnon is missing as he is a real threat
Am sure Wilder will have the boys fired up so fingers crossed we can bring Fulham's run to an end.

Yet more uninformed know-it-alls classing Utd as a direct team. Personally, I'd like them to be more direct rather than over-passing in & around the box as they're prone to doing.

I wouldn’t. I’m fond of football, not aimless punts. I can do the latter myself.

Apart from the comment parachuted in about us being over physical I can’t disagree with any comments on there

The are full of confidence and rightly so.

You agree they are ‘unarguably’ the best team in the league? The table says they’re not.

You agree there’s no reason they can’t go unbeaten to the end of the season? There is. They are not good enough. Please put the numpty who thinks they are in touch with me and we’ll see if his/her confidence extends to a significant wager.

Fucking Fulham cunts being confident after 8 home wins on the bounce.

Who do the think they are?

A fantastic team. One of the best in the world. We have no right to be on the same pitch. They’re just the bestest of the best ever. We’re gash and dire but so proud of our Inferiority.

We’ll be lucky to get nil, such will be the good hiding we’ll both get and deserve. Battered. We’ll get battered, and we’ll be grateful for the battering. Then we’ll let our players and manager ‘know about it’, Handsworth style, because us sophisticated Bladesfans know best.

Oh, Fulham, Fulham, how we adore you. We’re not fit so much as to even begin to contemplate just how wonderful you are.

Please spout as much bollocks as you like and we’ll happily agree with you.

Lotsa Love from your fond admirers,

S2.

Kostas on Shoreham Street?

Bloody lovely grub. Kostas used to work with my ex at the Greedy Greek Deli (don't go there if you know what's good for you). He worked every hour God sent on minimum wage in order to provide for his wife and kids AND save up to open that place on Shoreham Street for himself. Credit to the bloke.

Always found it good, stop over before midweek games usually

The only reason we have (slightly) faded away is the shit budget we had for strengthening after the Coutts injury.

Our manager and Fulham’s budget we would be above Wolves.

No that's not the one I'm thinking of, it's about 5 doors down from Man Friday's next to the corner shop. Don't know the name, on street view dated last July it was an e-cigarette shop.

Kostas sounds good, I must try it. :)

I remember reading the Roysview before the home game quite clearly as I'd been largely missing from the forum for a couple of years.
They are confident now as they are on a roll. Back then, they had all but given us the 3 points. So it goes.

And on the topic of 'Sheffield', if you supported another team and wanted to get a sneaky dig in, what would you call us? I'd imagine they never gave it a thought and still managed to upset some.

Did I say hoof? No, just a desire not to overplay, particularly around the box when there's opportunities to play killer balls and get shots off. Duffy's goal at Reading being a perfect example.

Surely to be 'unarguably' the best team in the league you have to be 1st. I think the 3 teams above them would argue they are better. Let's not forget their last defeat was to Sunderland who we all know are absolute pony.

Also describing us, Preston and Brentford as long ball physical sides is laughable.

Our defence worries the duck out of me at the moment, we've been very shaky at times even with the poorer teams, they've created lots of chances, if we give Fulham the same room around and through our defence as we did against Hull and Fulham we're going to get mullered.

Hoping for a strong defensive performance with a few decent breakaway chances, heart says 2-2 draw, head say's 3-0

Come on Blades!

Our defence make trouble for themselves, they seem to want to play football at the back? passing it to each other in little triangles until one gets spooked and plays the suicide pass. If in doubt get it out!

Why do they think we are going field a Bassett side from the 80s and kick them off the park! Have they watched Sheffield United play in the last decade or so.

Funny how long it takes to shake off a tag of being long ball cloggers as opposed to Bobby Mooresque sublime footballing artistes!

Feel free to be worried, but we actually have the best defence in the division in terms of the quality/frequency of chances our opposition create :)

Eh?
I can usually work stats out given time but that one must be way out of date!
Expected goals against after 34 games = 28.26 we've conceded 40!

He's a nice bloke Kosta aswell, always really friendly. I go in there a fair bit as I work around the corner and before games. Kostas is loads better that Greedy Greek way more authentic and you get shed loads of meat.

Petition to the club to get Kostas a stall in the ground anyone? So we don't have to manage on shite "pies" anymore.

It's the amount of goals we would have expected to concede, based on the quality and frequency of chances that our opponents have had. In essence, we rarely allow our opponents to create high-percentage scoring chances. As the graph shows, we're better at that than any other team in the league, as of 34 games played.

As you point out, we've actually been pretty unlucky in that regard in conceding 40 when we've "deserved" to concede only ~28. The amount of long-range shots we've conceded from this season is genuinely freakish based on how often you'd expect shots from that range to hit the back of our net.

Edit - this is a good primer on expected goals, if you're interested :) https://experimental361.com/explanations/match-timelines/

Let them think what they want to. They are bang in form and playing really well. I don't expect us to get owt from tonight so take all pressure off an just go play the attacking Wilder football from earlier in the season, give them a game and see what happens.
