THE FUTURE ... AS IT USED TO BE

I feel that a lot of Blades on here have shown themselves to be utter cretins in relation to Coventry City, their fans and their social action.
'Social action'? It was the disturbance of a Div One League fixture. How would you feel if that game was called off and we lost the rematch? How would you account for your support to the hundreds of fans who'd paid to go and watch an away game only to come away from it feeling robbed? What precedent would your 'social action' make?
I would have liked to have seen a similar social movement overthrow the McCabe dynasty at Bramall Lane [McCabe is primarily responsible for our six years in the third division - as I have argued many times on here before], so I have total empathy and sympathy with the Coventry supporters who demonstrated against their incompetent owners during our game there in December.
I disagree entirely. I have no real warmth for McCabe and the only bit which does ring true is his culpability for the club's demise and sustenance of lower league football. But we have a different method of showing our displeasure; we debate the in-club and on-pitch affairs on here and if it boils over to the stands, we either give them the cold shoulder at the end of a dismal season or its in the car park, never onto the field of play. I wouldn't blame McCabe if he dismissed any such actions and set his resolve to sit a crisis out even more if we showed that level of stupidity.
Invariably, it takes direct action to achieve social transformation, as history proves, so I support those Coventry fans seeking to do just that in the interest of their club.
It does if you are an oppressed minority, a member of a popular political uprising or you have a point. I don't doubt some CC supporters were delighted to see SISU take over at one point as they were all over the place. But the fans have deserted that club in droves, pushing revenues down, causing player sales and a dearth of on field talent. This in a newish stadium at the arse end of football. Sheffield United and others have ridden the storm, and their fans have continued their support and broadcast their happiness or displeasure in many constructive ways. Last December's ridiculous gesture, the whistles and the pitch invasion was deconstructive and ended in humiliation and ignominy for the club and its fans - right in front of the watching public. And we beat them and remain at the direct opposite ends of the division facing an either-way transition. McCabe has faced his critics both within and outwith the club and we are now moving up, whilst those clowns are moving the other way. I have no sympathy.
