Pre-Match View From Coventry

The unbelievable antics of their fans for our televised game, plus the poisonous bile about Billy's personal loss, followed by their self-righteous indignation at the Blades fans quite understandable response, added retrospectively to their stupid idol's behaviour in getting Sunderland relegated years ago and their current childish whimpering and whining really does make me think they should negotiate a take-over by West Ham to become their feeder club. They truly do deserve each other.

We really shouldn't tease them further, its bad enough for them having to live i probably englands worst city and only have div 4 football to look forwards to in way of comfort.
Then again I wouldn't be against a ruling that has the whole population lined up against a wall and shot, in the bollocks.

Oh go on. Let's tease them a bit more...

"Again, we'll never see you again,
Never sing SISU again,
We'll never see you again."

Cheers Roygbiv !

Those comments appeared to get darker and more extreme as I scrolled down, was that intentional?

They just don't get it do they?

The comment about us getting our comeuppance at places like Huddersfield and Leeds was quite funny considering they'll be probably getting beat by Morecambe and Accrington.

Personally I couldn't give two about Coventry or their fans, I just want us to win so that we can cement our promotion.
Yeah - they're not bitter & twisted in the slightest are they ;)

I feel that a lot of Blades on here have shown themselves to be utter cretins in relation to Coventry City, their fans and their social action. I would have liked to have seen a similar social movement overthrow the McCabe dynasty at Bramall Lane [McCabe is primarily responsible for our six years in the third division - as I have argued many times on here before], so I have total empathy and sympathy with the Coventry supporters who demonstrated against their incompetent owners during our game there in December. Invariably, it takes direct action to achieve social transformation, as history proves, so I support those Coventry fans seeking to do just that in the interest of their club. So those of you slagging them off should just reflect, if you have the brains to do that.

A lot of posters have reflected on the fact that, during their lifetime, Coventry City have spent far more seasons in the top flight than ourselves, Wolves, Portsmouth, Huddersfield, Cardiff, Burnley, Wednesday, Birmingham, Brighton, Hull, Swansea, Charlton, Blackpool, Norwich, Bradford and Bristol City, whilst all of those clubs have had at least one spell in the lower leagues.

Admittedly, with the exception of Charlton and Brighton, none have been forced to relocate, but they currently have a young side capable of winning a trophy (albeit the one no one else wants) and it wouldn't surprise many if they performed well next season and bounced back as others in the list above did and we are now doing.

Yes, some of the comments are stretching the boundaries of banter but, for the majority, that's all it is - mocking their claims to be Hard Done To Champions and, last Autumn, their demands that we recognise it.

Nah. Fuck em.

A simple search to establish who "knows nowt" unearthed this gem. QED - Think old Lincoln "Blade"1889 thinks all things can be solved by a good old mass protest ..

"Wilder is clearly a good 2nd division manager and that's where he's taking us. So we'll be well prepared for next season.

McCabe is ultimately responsible for our current demise - tonight was the worst blades' display I have witnessed in 55 years of supporting them. Until he goes I cannot see us reversing this situation. The majority say that isn't going to happen. I believe we have to think of a way - mass protests; crowd funding buy out?

I think we deserve and need to hear from McCabe and the board, what is their answer to our dire circumstances.

Towd Lincoln. With his romantic notions of Coventry fans storming the gates of the Winter Palace & tearing the Bastille down with their bare hands.

Maybe he can stay behind tomorrow and give all 370 or so of them a rousing pep talk.

For info btw - MK Dons brought more to the Lane.

What on earth has this to do with Coventry City?

Firstly, your comparing [mass] social transformation with the temporal fortunes of a football club. A football club that is an irrelevance to vast swathes of the general population. Even many football fans. Secondly: Is anything permitted when protesting against the current situation at "your" football club. Would you have whistled when only Coventry players had the ball. Ran on the pitch and thrown on tennis balls - only when they were attacking, mind. Would you have expected a pat on the back for your actions, or to have your motives questioned and labelled a cheat? CCFC'S own supporters club questioned their methods after they alienated other fanbase -, as well as the Blades.I still have no idea what the goals of CCFC fans are. They supported their owners with over 40,000 at Wembley on Sunday. Are they happy with them now? I have to say that I'm unhappy that they defied teamboycott by attending Checkatrade trophy games in this way. All other fans supported it en masse (solidarity only when it suits them?)
Yours, a supporter of: Oyston out; Roland Duchalett out; save Leyton Orient.

Albert Camus once said "Everything I learnt about man's humanity to man [sic], I learnt from football". A little different from YouFUMS philosophy ... '"Social transformation?" It's only football, FFS' ...

Apart from the renta-quote from your xmas cracker, are you up to speed on Camus? Or is this the only quote you can recall simply because football is mentioned? Old Albert would think differently if he were alive today.

Not sure how much league 1 football a French philosopher watched 60 years ago? Is it relevant?

Conversely I hope that their club rots in the seventh circle of hell, along with any cunt who sides with them.

All opinions though I suppose.

Surely, their demands are not made at us but at their owners.
As surely as our expression of love for SISU is aimed at them, not SISU.
There's none of that childish banter in the North Korean league; no Kevin McCabes either. It must be football paradise.

Surely, their demands are not made at us but at their owners.

True . Which renders their attempt to use a protest against SISU to influence their game with us in their favour even more inexplicable .

Be honest Lincoln , have you actually bothered to read any of this thread ?

Roygbiv A bit more than flirting!
Nothing but great memories of my 'view from Coventry'.
A secretary bent over near the canal in Elsecar, nice long summer night.

A few months later she was married.

Hope the Blades can fuck Coventry again. :)

Thanks for the view from Roy. Funniest one of the season so far!

I like the one who suggest they'll sing about West Ham/Tevez tonight. It'll be tricky to get that ringing around the ground with the mini bus load they're bringing up.
