At some point you have to wonder why the town of Coventry just doesn't give up altogether:

For a start their biggest claim to fame is being levelled by the Luftwaffe

It's the only town that is used as a by-word for unpopularity, as in "being sent to Coventry"

Steve Ogrizovic has been voted their sexiest man for 30 years running

The "legend" Chinny Hill is a dick who ruined football and was a shit pundit.

If I was the leader of their Local Authority I'd seriously consider a re-brand. Just rename it Birmingham-On-Shitheap or something.

That Hitler bloke was onto something.

What is their beef with Blunderland?

It's that business with Jimmy Hill when he delayed Kick-off at Highfield Road.

Sunderland or Coventry could go down but Coventry knew what they had to play for because of the delay (Sunderland had already finished I think).

When they protest by blowing whistles only when their team has the ball, rather than just when the opposition has the ball, I will be able to regard them as fans worth feeling sorry for, as opposed to attention-seeking thugs.

Until then I just feel sorry for the ones who have to put up with the other idiots.

And let's see who is taking the piss between us and the Pigs, Weeds and Udders next season!! My money is on Wilder's Warriors.

Meanwhile, I reckon Lincoln will be giving them a right seeing to!!

“They don’t hate us as much as they hate West Ham. Good way to wind them up Wednesday”

Everyone cares more about West Ham than we do! We already dispelled our demons there. The fact Hammers especially always bring it up is only down to the fact it's their only bit of history.

Cheers Roygbiv !

Those comments appeared to get darker and more extreme as I scrolled down, was that intentional?

They just don't get it do they?

The comment about us getting our comeuppance at places like Huddersfield and Leeds was quite funny considering they'll be probably getting beat by Morecambe and Accrington.

Personally I couldn't give two about Coventry or their fans, I just want us to win so that we can cement our promotion.

I tried to give them some sort of order. A bit of chat about the game first, some jibes at us next then let it all descend into a perfect summing up of the mentality of their fans. I'm really quite proud of it. Better than Dickens I'd say ;)

This is possibly the least true statement ever.

We have always been aligned with Wednesday and have a good relationship with them, just not the thick side of Sheffield, and I can say that with experience having lived on the Blades side of town for a few years in the 90’s.”
Awwww bless, we all know how the oinkers snuggle up to anyone who don't like us, looks like they have been sharing deludomol pills

“Tricky re: team selection. Not sure whether I’d put in fresh players (e.g. DKE) or ask those who played Sunday to turn out again.

Yes, you faux Brummie cunt. And I'm not sure I'd have give you twats an extra day to recover from the WhatTheFuck Trophy final.*

*They've been struggling to get sponsorship for this unbelievably shit 'competition' for next season. What about 'The Bermuda Triangle Trophy' as 42.5k Coventry 'fans' will have gone missing between last Sunday and tomorrow?

Been looking forward to that all week Roy absolute corker, laughed all through my lunch at work over those comments.

The hypocrisy is priceless this one in particular...

"“Wot the fuck Is wrong with Sheffield United supporters all they do is moan n whinge"

Point him the direction of some of their comments after our one nil victory over them at the Lane last season, it was a three week whingeathon afterwards about every thing from the ref to the shape of the ball I seem to remember.. priceless.

They tried to help their cause by ruining the game with us. Keep the protest off the pitch and its not a problem.

And ... they LOST!

Bwahahahahahahaha!

Enjoy the fourth division you dishevelled shower of hamster-fingering, jizz-moppers. Have fun playing Newport (and losing) you woeful collection of pointless, sniffers of fat lasses bike saddles. You pathetic examples of flaccid-cocked, shit grids. I hope your dismal little club plays in it's cavernous stadium to twelve pitifully subnormal cretins, a sex offender out on license and a man who looks like Douglas Carswell, in drag. I hope you lose 8 nowt to every team everywhere and Your next manager is David Wier and his pet donkey, Moyles.

(hope they have a roygbiv-type who publishes this shit on their site!)

I had a work even at the Ricoh offices in London recently, spent most of the day thinking how miserable the place was just for being associated with Coventry fucking City.

PS: They were actually very nice offices and put on a lovely event which was free :)

Not really, the obsession with it is embarrassing.

I'll never forget what happened to us that season when we were effectively relegated by the cheating of others. We shouldn't have had to worry on that last day because they should have had points docked for cheating. I don't care if we don't go in the Premiership again because of teams like West Ham and knobrots like Scdamore.

I hope the Ricoh burns down.

We do an exhibition there once a year and its the single worst venue I have ever had the misfortune to exhibit at.

It's a marriage of convenience that suits both parties mentalities.

Pigs: "Please love us"

SISU: "Please notice us"

Thanks Roy.

I think this guy has his priorities wrong somehow...

“Whatever happens we’re cup winners and I can’t believe it.
As the song said
We’re going down
Who gives a fuck
We’re Coventry City and we won the cup”

I work with a lad who's a Coventry fan and he's genuinely miserable about the whole situation. He reckons they might show up tomorrow on the back of the Wembley win with a bit of confidence but it's unlikely.

I do feel for every fan of a club that's getting massively bummed for reasons outside their control (Coventry, Blackpool, Orient etc.) but it's an unfortunate side effect of the modern game and can easily happen to any club.

This fictitious "rivalry" between us and them is utter bollocks, and has grown simply from one set of fans getting frustrated at the owners and the other fans getting annoyed at the game being disrupted.

Fans from other clubs can hate us for X or Y reason for as long as they like, I solidly don't give a flying shite about anyone bar the mighty Blades.

Well that makes for pleasant reading! Thanks Roy, It is the highlight of my week reading those.

I do have to say what a set of humourless chuffs. The buddying up to Wednesday is pathetic, and if you want solidarity with other fans protest in a sensible way that doesn't affect the match. The behaviour of their fans that night was indefensible. In light of Linz's post yesterday about banning orders it would be interesting to see what prosecutions resulted from the multiple invasions that night?

United fans have a good history of showing solidarity with other clubs fans, examples are contributing to Toytowns bucket collections and even this year with the Charlton fans who chose to protest outside the Valley. Maybe the Coventry fans need to take a look at themselves and their methods, rather than having a complete sense of humour failure and pointing their bitter fingers at us!

I talked to Cov fans and sympathised with them as I walked up to the Ricoh. I am sorry that their club is in the state it is in, but I didn't see any support from them when we went through the Tevez affair or when we were dying under a mountain of Debt, so I don't see why we should worry unduly about them now. I am more focused on our resurgence, it will feel like a moral victory if the promotion should come on Wednesday against SISU. Just as it felt great that the bitter spireites result at the weekend contributed towards our push for the title! Oxford must be overjoyed that a victory tomorrow could hand the hated Chris Wilder promotion. The joy of football rivalries!

That's true pal, I'll never forget it either, I was only 11 at the time, promotion season was one of my first proper memories of United and then 1 year later I had my heart ripped out. Lessons learnt young, prepared me for the next 10 years of heartache.

But what happened it doesn't bother me anymore, other than the fact I'm sick of hearing "Tevez" from every tit with nowt better to say about us. Sure something should have been done when it happened, but 10 years on there's no use crying over spilt milk, or non-spilt points as it were.

However when we do get back to the Prem, I hope West Ham are rotting in L1 by then. As it should have been.

Nothing like an opposition team sucking upto SWFC jusrt before or after playing us, happens every week this season for some reason. Trying to create some kind of a rivalry.

This league is gonna miss us next year!
