Fact checking:

Narrator: this is referring to the retrospective ban picked up by Brandon Thomas-Asante for elbowing a Norwich player. I have no idea what they're whinging about, he should have been sent off straight away

This is partly true. Campbell deliberately tried to tackle a goalkeeper who was trying to be too clever. It was Dovin's decision to try a Cruyff turn which resulted in his ACL injury, not Campbell's tackle.

Coventry City might have won the FA Cup in 1987 but that remains their only ever major trophy. If either set of fans has unrealistic views of themselves I'd suggest it's the ones who have seen their team promoted to the top flight once in its history.

They rival Hull in the delusional "we hate United for reasons no-one is entirely clear about" stakes. As a result, I would love it if they bottle promotion, let's hope we can chip away at the foundations a little bit more tomorrow.

In other words these overrated c.nts have no rivals and so pick Sheffield United out.

Not the first to comment on the Coventry Blitz.

More people died in the Sheffield Blitz a month later.
No-one usually admits to being from Coventry as they move out and live elsewhere. I thought your rivalry was Leicester City so why do you frequent this board and go to the more upmarket Leicester.

You won the game. We wanted you to win the game.

We would have supported it, had it been the other way round. The same happened when Sheffield Wednesday tried to get their game abandoned against us in October. We were supportive of that.
Sure you would if you were playing Leicester. You come across as all virtuous ‘we would have’ ‘you should have’ etc I suppose it wasn’t your supporters that baited Leicester fans about the helicopter crash. like I said why are you here? To tell us what we should or shouldn’t do in football etiquette. Why don’t you go and hang out some banners on that shitty road between you two midlands nowhere clubs.

There's a comment in the View From and there are loads all over the BTL comments on the BBC/Guardian bemoaning the fact that, apparently, no other clubs' players get retrospective punishment. This seems to relate to Brandon Thomas-Asante's three match ban for elbowing Norwich's Mattsson which is about as clear and obvious a case of violent conduct as I've ever seen and, frankly, he's lucky that we have the ludicrously inflexible 3-match ban for such offences.

Genuine question: do City fans really feel hard done to about that?

We weren't playing Leicester. It was a televised game at a time when one or two games a season were on Sky.

I explained it at the time but wasn't asking for sympathy and am not now. Sheffield United have been promoted multiple times and have played in the PL since and yet it still gets brought up by United fans.

No. It was a stupid elbow from Asante and he deserved a 3 game ban.

I didn’t say you were playing Leicester at the time. I know your fans have used the helicopter crash before because my mate is a Leicester fan. Your fans fake a rivalry with us that doesn’t exist. Our rivals are the pigs but in recent times the rivalry is more Leeds because the pigs are so shit it’s becoming more difficult to have them as a rival. So seeing as you are here let us know your rival?

Do you really think folk in Coventry consider Sheffield United a rivalry? Honestly?

Despite this one of your illustrious posters on here keeps telling us how much better you are than us.

If you get promoted and finish 9th or manage to stay up for a 3rd season once you’re up there, I might take some patronising comments from your supporters in the right spirit. Until then you’re just a club like Luton who have happened upon a good season to get promoted and, without a decent spend next season, will be straight back down.

Fair enough.

If you wanted us to win the game, then you shouldn't have done all the off field bollocks.

Not turning up for a bit works - but you've been doing that for years.

Our preference is taking off one shoe in the club car park. Sounds odd but it's surprising effective.

It's that time of the year again , when fat Roy starts his little shit stirring mischief game against the sky blues.
Oh dear he must be a very bored little queer sort of chap .

Still I'm struggling to see how cov could possibly get a win at brammel lane after they're world club championship cup win on Sunday, wow what a team you have.
I can only hope we don't get we don't get battered.🤣
Bored little queer sort of chap. Let me see if I can find one for you.

Rivals? I'm sorry to say you're not our rivals this season because of what happened after getting rid of Wilder. I don't see a rival as where you are from but where you are in the table. Some people seem to be getting mixed up with rivals and local rivals.

But saying that it will be a difficult game for us and a good challenge. Should be a good game.
So why are YOU always on our Bord (deliberate misspelling) why don't you wind up the Zulu's, Villa, Wolves, Nuneaton, Burton you get the drift?
