No. You do it. You're the one who has some catching up to do if you've missed the "aren't Brentford great" crap. I recall one numpty, in particular, suggesting that anyone who thought United could possibly finish above fucking Brentford would be deluded.

We have a number of contributors who are nauseatingly sycophantic towards other clubs but can't wait to belittle our own. Or has that passed you by, too? Either way, I'm not your errand boy.

If you're making the claims you should show some evidence to back it up, that's how these things work. I could try to have a look but if you can't find the evidence I'm sure I won't be able to either.

You could save us both some time and just say you won't be posting the links because they aren't there.

I've seen more than enough evidence to satisfy me. If you can't be bothered to look for yourself, I really wonder why you've raised the matter in the first place?

I know the close season is a bit boring and maybe we're not used to the level of achievement in 2016/17, but fuck me this is just insane.

I'm reight giddy for Saturday and praise be, Roy's back with a vengeance. Bring on those vastly superior championship teams - I just hope our complete ignorance of the vast chasm in class and competence we've just luckily negotiated, is not exposed and we manage to pick up a point here and there, to go back to where we came from with at least some vestiges of dignity.

It's game on Blades, let's enjoy the ride.

Thanks Roy, always enjoyed these views. Cant see a big step up in quality from L1 views, although the greater pace is clearly there as they are a day ahead of what we've become accustomed to.
This time last season I'd already given up, cant believe how CW has managed to transform the team and cant wait now for 3pm Saturday.
 

Rather enjoying being the overlooked underdogs, it brings me back to my younger days.
I'm going into Saturdays game not expecting to win, in fact I'll probably go into most games in the first half of this season not expecting to win. But my god we'll give out some bloody noses to those teams that look past us. Bring it on!

Really don't think we will lose, and certainly not heavily, but even if we do I'd be very disappointed if that was to happen, given the way he turned it round after the slow start last season.

He might need time to adapt the team to what is necessary in this division if we do have a poor start, but I've every confidence that he would adapt and rectify.

My slight concern is the lack of continuity from the loss of Moore in goal but with Blackman in to compete with Eastwood we should hopefully be OK.
 
I suspect that as fans we're equally ignorant of each other. A hell of a lot has changed to both clubs since we last met.
 
Cheers Roy, outstanding as usual! We're all getting fired up already! I'm late on parade as usual and didn't have time to read the whole thread. Brentford on the whole are not a bad team, no pedigree, seems like a bit weak in defence especially lacking their captain against us. Play good football, as we do, and will give us a good game. Hope their management are as lacking in knowledge and as confident as a lot of their fans. Tufty and co will have prepared well for this one, the first match back in the Championship, at home as well. Never mind history, financial investment, hot front line, we'll be up for this. Tough start, but glad we have tbh. Get the crowd on side, expose their weakness in defence and a winning start is on the cards. Nervous crowd on the back of the team could spoil it. So go, believe and back'em whatever happens, the result will come good.
 
Think I'm going to have to sleep with a Jonny on tonight and tomorrow, just incase, I'm that excited, I don't want any accidents!!

I'll give Pinchy some of his 'evidence' by confirming that Brentford are a decent footballing team, who I expect to make the play offs. They play some fast paced passing stuff with tricky forwards and a decent footballing defence.

In my book this is 'respecting' the opposition who I expect to give us a very good test. Sadly in Pinchy's world I am 'cap doffing' by not saying we will thrash them 6-0.

Yes, it's harvest time and all the straw needs gathering in, 'er the winter storms begin. He will need plenty to make men with, for non-arguments over the coming months.

There are also the legions of 'S2 hoofers' to fight and more pictures of traffic cones and donkeys to gather in case anyone praises Monty.

All in all, it is a pretty busy time to be Pinchy, fighting a lone weary battle against the lowly and simple S2 peasants.
