We played in a friendly match at Chesterfield the following Saturday (FA Cup 4th round day as we lost to Pompey in the 3rd round). Hodgy played in that game and a few days later we signed Hope who played in our next League match at Oxford.

They've probably never forgiven us for the March 84 game at Burnden Park where a big group of United hoolies (led by Mick n Dave S*****y) jumped into the home area and started giving a few slaps out. If so, they can certainly hold a grudge.

It was the game were we thought we had blown promotion and Edwards got kicked in the mouth as he scored a very late consolation goal - which as it happened, was the goal that probably got us promoted on goals scored (level on goal difference with Hull Shitty).

I was behind that goal when Keith put his head in and got it kicked off, brave.
It always kicked off at Bolton, I remember them ambushing us under a bridge, proper scrapping in those days, not that I'm condoning violence
