Aye
So, the “serious note” is owt but - we won’t be selling at your ‘valuation’
  • no point taking such a hit on McB & Brew,
  • no chance of getting (that) money for Mousse

I wasnt suggesting we sell them, it was more a case of what is their value in the current market - highlighting CW's inability to spend, and therefore not be in contention for a PL job. I am sure any willing Chairman would do exactly this exercise, and see he is no good with money.

What do you reckon we would get then??

“Of course it matters how you get results.
We beat Forest despite playing poorly because Forest were awful, and we were then shown up in the next two matches.
If their 3 wins in 4 were against very poor sides in and around the relegation zone, and they struggled against one of them with a man advantage, then it might be a sign that they’re not actually that good.
I’m fairly sure they’ll finish above us this season, as you’d expect with their squad and manager, but I’m not overly threatened by their recent results.”

We've been sussed....

I wouldn’t consider flogging McB or RB albeit for different reasons-
think McB (still ) can /will do a decent job if / when we can use /play to his strengths, which aren’t ‘target man’ / back to goal
Not so confident re RB but there’s still plenty ‘ on’ his contract - ‘cutting losses’ / writing off the vast majority of 20 mill so ‘soon’ frightens me but, on current performance / form ? so does paying him for the next 3 (?) years
Owt for Moose is a bonus given length of remainder of contract + appearances / injury record
Like most things surrounding OB I haven’t got the foggiest idea - your figure would appear a reasonable / good ‘return’ on his described valuation in the Robinson deal, which at the time I thought, indeed think, was a reasonable punt - Robinson wasn’t/ isn’t good enough despite him netting against (a woeful) us

That actually made me chuckle reading that, they're a self-deprecating bunch when they want to be, and almost poetically so.

My fave bit was "can't be arsed to be bothered". That's some level of disillusionment to be at, 10 games in 😆

"Will the blades of Sheffield strike the final blow in the managerial reign of Neil Warnock? Will the club that he loves and supported as a child be the club that brutally ends a career in football management that has spanned over four centuries?"

I know Warnock isn't a spring chicken, but never thought he was that old.

All the talk about kidney punching and team bullying above and then I had a text today from the Blood Transfusion Service.

I donated a couple of weeks ago and they texted to tell me that my donation had been 'issued to Middlesbrough University Hospital'.

Obviously stocking up in preparation for tonight's fun....

How would I feel if we won and Warnock got the bullet, ending his career with a defeat to the Blades?

Probably similar to what lifelong Blades fan Neil said when asked how he felt about our relegation to League 1, "I couldn't give a fuck"

Have you got a source for him saying that? Out of curiosity I just spent a few minutes Googling, looking for evidence of him saying something along those lines, and the only things that come up are other posts by you on here, stating that he said it (none of which provide a source for him saying it).

Whenever I see interviews with him, he's always very complimentary about us, and he always states he's a blade.

The source is myself. Sat in a room with him and maybe 30 or so others at the Hilton as it was on Victoria Quays.

Shortly after our relegation to League 1 and John Green asked him how he felt about seeing us drop. With a smug sickly grin he said he couldn't give a fuck (or maybe shit).

Considering this was in a room predominantly full of Unitedites I was a little surprised that more didn't seem unimpressed like me.

I'm confident you'd never hear Wilder saying something like that at such an event.

I was mixed on Warnock when I went but a friend had paid for a table. It was still a good night but that comment left a sour taste in my mouth and I always smile now when people still make him out to be this big Unitedite.
