I forgot to ask when Wilder’s is, so have just done so. Wonder if my good mate Rob Staton is doing it and will name check me as his inspiration when asking all the right questions 😂🤙 UTB

Wilder's live at 1:30. You'll need to log in

If you missed the live stream.

It started 30 mins late....no seriously...but that's fine, it happens. It then ran for 9 mins and just ended suddenly again

In those 9 mins, it was unwatchable. Like the worst stream you have ever watched or listened to. No single sentence was complete.

When you were a kid did you ever bounce up and down dunking your head in the swimming pool and go from noise to silence to noise to silence every second? It was like that, for 9 mins, but without the opportunity to catch a sneaky look at milfs in swimming costumes.

But metalblade will be happy because WIlder has had a shave. Unlike the swimming pool milfs of the 1980s

Edit: seems like the issue was with teh live streaming, not the recording, so the recording will be made available soon: "We are aware of connection issues with the stream. The full presser will be made available shortly after conclusion."

He has done really well for Sunderland and hit the ground running. Few expected to be top, as we were, and once at the top we are there to be shot at. Recently of course spate of draws has seen us slide from 5 points clear at the top to 4rth - but it's really tight.

My only quibble with the new manager is that recently when we have taken the lead we have deliberately fallen back to defend what we have. That's hasn't worked out - 2 nil up against coventry only to let it slip to 2 v 2 and of course 1 up at Millwall only to concede in the last minute of injury time.

We do have 2 genuine young talents in Bellingham and Chris Rigg. Ones to watch.

He reminds me a bit of Hecky with us... getting a lot out of the talent he has available, and clearly great with the younger ones. Also, like you say, likes to focus on preserving a lead once attained, rather than pushing on, sometimes throwing points away. With Hecky in our promotion season whilst we were right up there we went on a bit of a poor run around this point of the season, and he eventually realised his stubbornness and changed his approach a bit. We then went on to get promoted.

We are at our best, or were, early season pressing teams with high energy but that seems to have been sacrificed for some reason and we have fallen back a bit into this defensive mode of defending what we have - which I dont like - because it rarely works out.

At some point, like you suggest you once did, he may revert back to that high pressing game, which is very difficult to counter, but takes a lot out of the players.

O'Nein is a workhorse for us and is one of those players that opposition fans hate because he is a bit of a worky ticket, but one that every team would love to have in their side because he gives 100% every game. 11 x Diego Maradona's wouldn't work - a Diego Maradona plus 10 others does - a la 1986 World Cup. Every team needs a player similar to O'Nein and I've no doubt that SU has theirs.
