When will we ever learn. Listened to praise and grumble tonight for the first time in ages as i think it it biased.
What do we get ?
A man asking Rob Staton what HE thought was going wrong at Wednesday. He evaded that very swiftly. No meaningful reply and moved on saying nothing........Next

A few calls later a United supporter comes on and mentions Wilder and the transfer window and suddenly he comes out with all the answers, Mcabe should do this and then comments on the moneys from transfers of previous players ,Maguire,Murphy, and others .A few calls later a United supporter rings after presumably biting the cherry stating Mcabe and the board should double their investment in the transfer window .

I dont normally listen to this biased programme and tuned in on the off chance.
i shall not bother again. Nor should you . They just dangle the carrot. Pure amatuerish journalism and a very biased programme

Blimey, good job you missed the one hour special on United’s 2017 successes that aired on Saturday then

I can verify this as 100% fact. It is the one thing I am truly in the know about. He is 100% a Wednesday fan.

I don't think the show is biased though, even the evidence you present doesn't make it sound biased.

Well known poster on PorkTalk in the final days of Allen and the Les Stratford eras...

Radio presenters have to be really careful what they say,
Also they have to stay “on side” with the local clubs.

The Praise and Grumble show is about callers opinions.
The presenters tend to shy away from giving an opinion, howeve every now and then they play devils advocate.

I listen to Praise and Grumble regularly and if anything I think they are bias towards Sheff Utd.
They are always praising Wilder and our fantastic style of play.
Where as in recent weeks they were giving Calvahal a very hard time.
Rob Staton seemed excessively angry giving CC a hard time 2 weeks ago.

Wednesday fans also think they are biased towards us.
In reality there probably no bias.
Past radio presenters (on the anniversary show) have even admitted that they were Blades but when you work and get to know the staff at all local clubs (including Hillsboro) then you develope a genuine fondness for every local club and want them all to do well.

Suppose it’s the Derek Dooley syndrome, borough up a massive Wednesday fan, played for and managed their club but worked as director at United. He regularly admitted that he loved both clubs equally.

Put on between 1 and 2 on a match day when we were all in the pub.

I have listened online since though, and it was very good, but could have been live at a better time.

Magic Year

BBC reporters should be unbiased, with no conflicts, be it minor/major.

May as well work for the club if they don't ask the pertinent questions.

Why do they dodge the answer, when asked ''who do you support?'' ....

It's like watching MOTD and knowing the results, even though they try to keep them quiet.

Don’t think it matters who they support.

This question was recently asked to the old time Praise and Grumble presenters during the anniversary celebrations.
Two of them admitted that they were Blades (although never admitted it when they were presenters) but said that when you commentate on Wednesday matches and interview players and managers down at S6, then overtime you develope a genuine fondness for that club.

The presenters said it would be a bad idea to broadcast you allegiance because you’d be accused of being biased.

They said it’s might sound a cliche but they genuinely want all the local teams to do well and support them all.
I suspect the current Praise and Grumble presenters are the same, it’s a job.

At the end of a day it's a shite local radio show which a minority of people listen to for 30 minutes on the way home from a second tier football match.

Of course theyre gonna try and fish controversy out of every caller because its what most people of the opposing team enjoy hearing, don't know why people get so worked up about it, everyone knows what it is and it will never change

Paul Walker’s a Blade. He’s also become one of the best commentators in football and it’s a matter of time before he’s on MOTD.

It shouldn’t preclude them working on the show, if anything they understand the ideosyncrasies of the South Yorks football scene better.

UTB & UTP&G

He is very good commentator as you say. His ego these days doesn't work on PorG, he thought it was the Paul Walker show at times, such as when he was insulting to the Blades fan. It was also funny him scratching around for info when Blackwell was sacked, asking Bruno what had happened and eventually seeing it officially announced on Sky before RS.

I suppose it could be even worse....
