Potential strikers for the premier league

IFFF we go up we’d need to buy a proper goal scorer e.g. like Mitrovic has been doing for Fulham.

Billy has been fantastic for us over the years but he’s not a goal scorer anymore and I’d like to think that McBurnie could take that role but I don’t think he’s good enough for the premier league

In terms of Ndiaye he’s more of the creator in the front 2 and is a great second striker so if we can get that “main striker” spot sorted then we would be sorted.

But the question is… who would you buy? Someone from the championship or a striker already in the Prem? Suggestions please I’m intrigued

I think you have jumped the gun a bit mate :(

This week's revelations are:

Ndiaye to Everton £22m - Berge goes to Liverpool for 21p and the Prince pockets the change from what he already owes.
New owners back out and think F**k that for a game of marbles.
Embargo.
Adminstration confirmed.
30 points deduction leaves us 1 point off the relegation places. We don't win another game this season.

*Ipswich and Plymouth found out for fielding ineligible players and are deducted 21 points. Pigs promoted as L1 champions and they sign Norwood, Egan, Bogle, Anel, Lowe and McBurnie for a combined total of £5m paid in annual installments.

Who are we going to attract as a L1 club ???

anyone watch the transfer deadline day programme sky have been doing?
Kid in there about 22 years old, started at Brugge didn't go well and then went on a 2 year loan to Vitesse in Holland. Kid was scoring goals for fun and got a decent money move to Lens for about 10 million euros and has 9 in 19 for them
Lois Openda, just started getting in the Belgian national side, could he be one to look towards?

There's undoubtely talent in europe and some that can be picked up for relatively cheap. Junior Adamu is another but he's attracting attention from some big big teams.

Bank balance is not the same as career
Sorry but no one can argue that going to a newly promoted team is a better career move than a pre-existing PL team, regardless of money, the stats say that newly promoted teams are much more likely to get relegated, nearly 50% get relegated in their 1st season

I guess we'll just agree to disagree if you're not going to get my point in the slightest

We need tried and tested PL players this time.

Last time we had tried and tested Robinson + McBurnie from the Championship and Mousset that scored a few for Bournemouth off the bench in the PL.
Dream on - if we actually get there , our PL money will not buy us established PL players , in terms of either fee or wages.
Unless a new owner can afford to not only buy us but invest significant capital by way of new equity.
There is almost no point in discussing the squad upgrade required on promotion to the PL because :
1. We might not get there.
2. Even if we do , we could by that stage be owned by :
a. Our Prince who has no further money to invest , or
b. A new sugar daddy who can invest beyond the purchase price , or
c. A new owner who's leveraged his purchase with a loan which the club itself must service , in which case we're in an even worse position than at present.

Three simple words: Morgan Gibbs-White. If forest go down

Spot on.

Wouldn't say no to a punt on Gyökeres. Only got a year left on his deal. 24, 6'2, seems to know where the net is. But not a proven prem striker in the slightest. Like him though.
As you say, he's only 24 and gonna get even better. Would be a fantastic signing.

If one of Jebbo or Osula make it, you have just saved the club 25m quid on a guy who might not fit?

Someone described it as ‘taking a punt’ which is exactly what it is, and the new player has not even mentioned his wage demands yet!

Did you we get lucky with Ahmedhodzic? Maybe not because he was interviewed by Hecky 6 months before we e bought him.

We would be unlikely to catch PH interviewing Prem strikers right now. Just lucky to scrape the bus fare to somewhere like Manchester at the moment.

New owner or not, the manager should be given a budget for fees and wages as soon as promotion is confirmed. For Fallowfield, the budget goes to Heckinbottom, no one else.

He played for Jack Lester at Forest’s academy. I’m surprised it hasn’t been mentioned before.

Like most supporters, I googled Anels provenance when he signed for us.
Anel has referred to the Lester influence a few times.
My point was that PH took the time to sit down for a natter with him in January, before the deal was done. Both of them were impressed with his prospects if he did come to the blades.

But then what happened?
CW got found out big style as a manager who had no plan B and after the brilliant 1st season, the other managers took note andwe were Shafted,by a manager who unfortunately couldn't cope, gobbled off blaming everybody bar himself, and thus is still unemployed,be very surprised if he ever gets a premiership job,Owners don't been chastised in public be it the truth or not .

Can anybody remember the Weighorst story or was I dreaming...

We were rumoured to be buying him for about 30.000 euros, he was identified by van winkle, but wilder allegedly kiboshed it (the manager chooses the players not some suit upstairs) in persuit of Brewster..

Then Weighorst went somewhere else and started to bang the goals in every week, his success drove his price through the roof so we missed the boat on an absolute bargain.

Obviously he's at man utd now, and scored last night, think PA alluded to this in one of his interviews, but I'm not certain.

"we had identified a striker for a great price, now he's moved on to another club and is very successful"

Think that's what PA said...

The deals are out there in Europe, its really the only option to try and get lucky, unless the mysterious cloaked new owner actually has fat cash, which I absolutely doubt 100%..

Weghorst was already an established Bundesliga striker with a goal every other game over two seasons before we signed Brewster, so I'm guessing you dreamt we'd have got him for 30k

Yeah I don't follow German footy, we must have been on about somebody else, would have been nice though.

I think you credit other managers more than they deserve. Nobody stopped us or did an number on us.

Truth is as soon as O’Connell got injured and his replacement wasn’t given top priority over Ramsdale, over Brewster, it left us with no Plan A for the whole season.

That injury did to Wilder’s team what Rob Hulse’s injury did to Warnock’s.

New keeper
Harry souttar sign to challenge egan
Doyle sign
Mcatee loan
Garner loan/sign
Skriri Dembele sign as Illiman cover
Gyokeres/K Davis sign to compete with Mcburnie

GK 2.5 mill ? Or out of contract veteran
Souttar 7.5 ?
Doyle 7.5 ?
Mcatee free loan
Garner 10?
Dembele 5-8 when they go down?
Gyok/Davies 10-15 ?

50 ish million outgoing there, out of the 120 odd we get from TV money. Offset a lot with the fees being survival add ons.

Plausible?

surely man city will want more than £7.5 million for doyle? think realistically you’d be looking at more like double that.

gyok similar deal, i think they’d be after at least £20 million.

It shouldn't cost 7.5m to get Doyle. Closer to 5m. If not, then look elsewhere. Think we'd be able to get him though and it would be a significant one because he's a likely long term Norwood replacement

Scott Hogan, it’s the blades way

'Bristol City have agreed to mutually terminate the contract of striker Chris Martin'

Our new Hanson/Madine.
