Me and my lads saw the incident a few minutes after it happened...the Bolton youth responsible was having his face ground into the tarmac by SYP finest....he had also taken a few blows with a bloody mouth and nose.....Blades were being told to piss off or they would be nicked too....gang of about 12 Bolton were further up near the market....average age about 18....

It's good to see that the frankly rediculous in ground restrictions have done what they were meant to and prevented any trouble.

After all, supporter safety is paramount.

Oh...

I wonder if they were the little Sergio Tacchini-clad cockends in the hotel who pushed passed everyone singing something unintelligible before the match?

I do hope the little scrote enjoyed the finest SYP tea and sympathy at Snig Hill nick last night.

Sergio Tacchini!!! They really are living in the 80s still aren't they? Casual clothing has moved on lads.

Oh dear.

If this really was a glassing with a broken bottle, the pubescent scum-muncher responsible is looking at ... what ? Jail, fine, long banning order, difficulty getting work for the next X years, humiliation of having to surrender his passport (if he has one) several times a year, etc etc ? All because he was sure he could prove his cock was an inch bigger than his mates' cocks, during a day of crushing, pissed-up disappointment on a wet day in February that might have finished his football club for the foreseeable. Not sure the Twats or Cunts threads are really sufficient....

Very best wishes to the chap who was attacked. Hope reports of his rapid recovery prove true. Don't let it put you or yours off, mate ! :)

There was definitely one with a Tacchini track top on....lol...little bellends

Looked like his young son with him. Clearly no hooligan.

Newcastle at OT, we were in a WMC pre match and saw one of theirs squaring up with his little son sat on his shoulders

I'm told that SYP use sarcasm these days, Linz , reduces them to tears...

Hope hes ok. Every club have their wannabe 18 year old jd sports scrotes, us included. Everybody knows that to glass somebody is beyond normal, somebody whos not up for it, especially with his his Mrs is or kids is off limits. I never say this, but well done to syp for dealing with them and getting the the little cunt. If he glassed him then i hope they bring an attempted murder charge against the scrote. It should all be cctv anyway. Get well soon fellow blade ! UTB

Echo that.

But don't these little scrotes always prefer to go for folks like that? Some middle-aged bloke minding his business - it's a much easier target than going for some other little scrote I suspect. Or at least, it seems like it to them. As a middle-aged bloke who minds his business these sort of attacks leave me cold. I think it's fine if the scrotes want to get together in a field, or a car park somewhere, before or after the game, and feight each other t' death. But glassing a bloke walking home from the match with his kid is vile to the point of being disturbed. Whatever fuels such behaviour I can not possibly understand. It may be drink or drugs or both? Or it may be an awful upbringing that has led the kid to have no empathy or feelings or respect for others. Whatever it is, it's totally uncalled for and that kid would do well to imagine how it would feel if someone had just done that to someone that he loves - if indeed he has such emotional capacity? Best wishes to the injured guy and I'd say that regardless of whether he was a Blade or a fan of any other club.

They're very lucky he's okay. The lot of them could be waking up this morning facing a joint enterprise murder charge.

At the risk of coming across as a right Cnut, I was amazed at the number of early teens in the family Enclosure who were standing up with arms out wide goading the away fans.

It's cringeworthy when grown men do it, but 12/13 year old kids?!?! Had to explain to my 5 year old there were pretending to be aeroplanes...

Right. I'll get back to my Sunday Telegraph!

Theres a few more hooligan films out nowadays for them to aspire to. Back in't day, there was ID. Think that was it.

I don't think you come across as that at all pal.. I'm in complete agreement with you.. I was sat in that section last week with my 6 year old.. I told the bloke next to me to stop swearing, it's the family stand.. to be fair he apologised and didn't do it again "I don't normally sit on here". He said....... how do the likes of him and the wannabe aeroplanes get on there?

With the little'un at Shirecliffe this morning didn't make it down to the lane until 2.55pm. Some bloke in his fifties (with several other Bolton Fans) was giving it large on the corner opposite the Railway, chanting 'Wednesday, Wednesday', and telling Blades fans to 'F*** **f''. Not the brightest move to be honest. He kicked a young lad in the stomach and then abused another lad who was walking along. The Blade took a couple of steps away and then just turned and lamped him with one punch, took him about a minute to get up off the floor. ....Laugh.....well yes to be honest....

Thanks for that, saw the chap on the floor as we came out of the Railway and wondered what had happened.

Hope the blade is OK but please SYP consider holding back away fans for 10 to 15 minutes at the end of each game.

I've heard they're not allowed to hold away fans back anymore at the Lane, something to do with Council bylaws. Or at least that's what SYP told people at an FSF meeting a few years ago.

So they shouldn't. As someone who travels away regularly, I consider it an affront to my rights. I'll take my chances outside thanks very much. If I want to stay behind because I think it is not safe, I will do so. Holding away fans back has rightly been stopped at most grounds. It is bad enough how we are sometimes treated like common criminals, never mind being subjected to such controls.

Infringes their human rights apparently.

Can't detain em all just in case one or two are idiots.

The other side of the argument is that if you hold em back it gives our scrotes the time to get assembled and organised and they know exactly where to look/wait to cause mayhem, as anyone that has been to milwall/Wolves/West Brom to name but 3 will tell you.

To be honest the human rights issue doesn't bother me in the least. If it's the right thing to do then I would do it but nevertheless it's still a difficult circle to square.

I actually have sympathy with the police on this one.

Damned if they do, Damned if they don't dependant on subsequent events that are not entirely within their control.

I don't. They are happy to place restrictions in and immediately around the ground, restrictions that prevent Utd from using the capacity we have most effectively, but get 300 yards from the ground and there is apparently nothing they can do?

They are quite happy to do the easy bit, but not the hard bit of actually keeping the peace...

Interesting, so the council don't allow it but the police can use kettling when they need to prevent a disturbance.

So the police could just kettle them on Bramall Lane in the same way they do with demonstrations in London but can't help thinking it would be easier to just hold them back in the ground. Maybe the council should have a look at their unsafe by laws and if they are prioritising the civil liberties of a small minority of thugs above the safety of the largely innocent majority.

I don't mind being held back a bit at away matches but had noticed this doesn't happen so much these days.

You might not, but other people do.

Sounds like you're a utopian perfectionist ;)

So would you hold em all back so that our scrotes can gather up their bricks and bottles to chuck at innocent visitors, or let em all straight out so that one or two of their scrotes can target innocent home fans?

Just remember that the police have limited resources and they can't be everywhere.
