There are drugs and there are drugs. You shouldn't need to take drugs to watch a football match but alcohol is a drug and to many (me included) it wouldn't be the same without a few pints. Most people who have necked a few pints are fine but one or two act like dickheads.

If I were to do a line of coke before the game I probably wouldn't act like a dickhead, or at least not any more than usual. But some, younger fans can't handle their booze or their drugs.

Practically, having sniffer dogs sniffing everyone before they enter the ground would slow things up too much. Plus, there is nowt to stop coke heads doing a big line in the pub and finishing it off before heading to the ground, (in a similar way that boozers drink a couple of extra ones knowing they won't get a drink in the ground.)

They'd have come in bloody handy last season.
