Real shame he got injured when he did last season. He Had shown flashes - certainly when he bagged a Hattrick in the cup and must have been eager to kick in after that.

Would have been a good signing if we played 4-2-3-1 or a system with wide players. Not sure he’s an upgrade on Brooks, Duffy or Holmes for the 10 spot so would be a bit of a luxury but wouldn’t say no at a league 1 prices

Haven’t seen how he’s been doing onloan do far

He's had two seasons in a row badly affected by injury now. Not good for him and maybe why Boro are willing to sell.

Another factor is that Boro are desperate to offload players at the minute. Good deals can be had from clubs in these situations. They've got an embarrassment of riches and Chapman's completely out of the picture there.

He wouldn't get in our team now but Duffy and Holmes are 30+, and if we sell Brooks, as we inevitably will at some point, it would be good to not only have a similar player in the squad, but also someone who could be a similar asset. Chapman's actually younger than Brooks and similar in that I feel he has a lot of development left in him.

I'd look at Connor Ripley from Boro too by the way. We should monitor how he does on loan at Bury. He's still young for a keeper.

apparently wildschuts is hard work off the pitch so probably doesn't suit the wilder criteria mainly off the pitch rather than on it.

I have always liked Connor Ripley but I do think next season we should be looking at the class above in Danny Ward (Liverpool keeper Who was on loan to huddersfield last season).

I suspect Ripley is extremely unlikely - CW had him on loan at Oxford and sent him back early. I'm not sure why he left Burton but I've already seen him make a couple of poor mistakes for Bury.

Re: Chapman - he's obviously a talented lad but given his injury record of late, buying him would be a big risk and as others have said, he wouldn't get in the Utd side and probably wouldn't even make the bench.

Typical Warnock signing. He likes the difficult ones.

Kasey Palmer linked with us (and Wednesday) in the Yorkshire Post today. Chelsea player, another midfielder.

Bullshit?

I recall he played in Huddersfield's drive towards the Premiership. Is this correct?

I think he did well for a while but this season (?) seemed to drop off and wasn't the same player.

Yes, I think he's had injury problems this season.

Can't see us signing anyone else now. Maybe he's one for the summer.

Wilder seemed quite clear about that being it in his last interview. No more business it could be seen that he’s just throwing people off the scent but then he started talking about balancing the books by shifting some out on loan so yes I’d say it is.

I suppose it's not unthinkable that we'll go back into the market if we get the other two out on loan and balance the books a bit. I just don't think it'll be someone like Palmer on loan. He's a bit high calibre to be bringing in on top of what we've already got in midfield.

I don't know what position we'd strengthen though, if any. Now Heneghan's staying we have enough cover at the back.

We just had to be boring and get every position covered well before the end of the window didn't we?

I’m very happy with the position we are in. 6 months into the Championship and we are signing good players to give us a squad.

Yes we want the perfect 22 players but we are getting there much quicker than I expected. I know we all dream of playoffs and premiership soon but for now I’m enjoying the championship. We need to aim for the playoffs but continuously building our squad.

Lewis Grabban returning to Bournemouth in Jan as Sunderland aren't able to sign him and Bournemouth wish to sell him to one of the clubs who have enquired about him

Currently 3 goals behind Leon on 10. Not bad for a team that's struggled all season
