From after four minutes in we were awful and my only hope was that Newcastle would carry on being as bad as they were. We seem utterly unprepared for the resumption of this season.

Unfortunately Egan hit the ball against Joelinton & it then went past him for Joelinton to run onto, against WH he headed it against Rice's arm & a similar thing happened, but VAR came to the rescue, so there was a touch of bad luck. But why did he mess with Joelinton in the 1st half? + crap refereeing decision!

Only positive today ... non football wise but I did receive my first Fathers day card and gift from one of my sons in 14 yrs.

If these sorts of performances carry on its given us a chance to see who's not up to it long term. The one good thing about this being like a mini season is we won't have the "2nd season syndrome" that takes us by shock. The next 10 games will illustrate whether certain players were running on the momentum of promotion or are actually Premier League quality players.
I think that's pretty much spot on I think we'll need to do some very good very shrewd business in the window if we're to avoid the second season syndrome. At least we've bought ourselves a bit of time with our performances this season.

You can't have an anchoring central defender who constantly gets caught out by the ball over the top
No matter how good he is at everything else
Its like having a batsmen who can't play spin teams will just put the spinner on him until his wickets gone and it doesn't really matter how exquisite his all round game is because he is now a liability

It's his weakness but nevertheless you put the best you have into the team & system even though they have faults & if we have better then play him (but we don't). Basham & O'Connell also cover for this quite well.
