We’ve all had a good old moan (including me) now it’s time to start expecting promotion through the play-offs.
Expecting defeat is a self-fulfilling prophecy. Negativity in the fans will be transmitted onto the pitch.
Let’s have just one thread with no negatives, there are plenty of other threads available for those.
This thread is now available for positive thinking about our great club and the reasons why we will be promoted this season:-

1) Our record this season against the top 6 teams in the division is very good. P10 W4 D4 L2 Pts = 16
2) Most of our players have recent experience of playing and winning a League One Play-Off Semi Final
3) Most of our players have recent experience of playing at Wembley
4) We have the highest attendances in the division. Two or three times higher than our play-off rivals
5) Bramall Lane is the biggest and best ground in the division and can be an intimidating place to visit
6) We have a bigger away following than any of our play-off rivals
7) Our away form is better than any of our probable play-off rivals
8) Our wage bill is higher than the other clubs in the play-offs. We can attract players that wouldn’t even consider signing for our rivals.
9) On paper, we’re the best team in the play-offs. If we play like we did in the first half against Swindon, we’re the best team on grass too
10) We’re Sheffield United! We should NOT go into games against Swindon, Brentford, Doncaster or Yeovil feeling like the underdogs

ie Brentford and Yeovil were outside the top 6 when we lost to them.

im really trying to muster up some positivity, it was there til we let in a last min equaliser to brentford and is on the verge of death at the mo, but if we win tomorow or perform well, it might return!

I take it you've not actually watched any matches this season then.

My first thought upon reading this was "Are you on glue?" and although that might be a bit too negative for this thread trust me, any negativity or indeed positivity washing down the Kop from me won't have the slightest affect on matters upon the pitch. After all, no amount of cajoling, moaning or general swearage from me has worked so far this season. Or any other season for that matter. Or on any trip to Wembley or Cardiff, as those losses don't seem to count as actual matches in the eyes of some loons.

I've been to every home match apart from one this season actually.
Please don't accuse me of being an armchair fan just being I'm trying to be positive.
All the facts I listed were true, you don't have to be a glue-sniffer to recognise that.

Have you never been to a match where the players have been lifted to achieve more by positive support from the crowd?
I'd say it happened recently against Swindon and Brentford. It happened all the time under Bassett (e.g. Forest)

Anyway, have a good trip to North Yorkshire.
United will somehow have to struggle through without your "cajoling and moaning"
All being well I'll be watching the Blades lift a trophy at Wembley.

Ah yes, the Brentford match where the crowd encouraged the players so well they turned a possible three points into one. I cheered when we went ahead, but can't recall encouraging them to let a late goal in. They managed that all by themselves.

Prior to that we went a goal down but the crowd remained positive, didn't get on the player's backs and they dragged themselves in front.

Back to the positives. We're the only play off team not to lose today. Radio Sheff said we were playing Brentford when I got back to the car, turns out it's Yeovil. That's better

The thing is that the first two games with Morgs in charge the players seemed to want it, which motivated the crowd. Don't think I've been more bored during a game than certainly, the first half yesterday

Tbh, I think all of them simply didn't want to try too hard or risk injuring themselves etc so that they can concentrate on next week. It was of course the McDonald injury that probably buggered things up for us more than anything else at Wembley. I can't believe the players wouldn't be up for the next few games - post Brentford game they've clearly felt that automatic was beyond them, and it's been reflected in the flat performances. And they're sort of right I guess - had we won the remaining games, we'd have lost out on goal difference to Bournemouth, and would be going into the playoffs with Brentford-esque crushing disappointment. Not quite as bad certainly, but I think it's helpful that we haven't had some kind of late trauma with the season that's meant we've thrown it away - we haven't really been in a strong position to throw anything away. We don't arrive in the playoffs with any real baggage - I've already managed to forget most of the games from this season, so perhaps the players will have too...

Not far wrong that but scant consolation for those fans who spent good money going to Crewe.
