It seems to me that a few on here have forgotten about Nigel's CV..........he has had three previous promotions you know. ;)

I fail to see why the board are getting flack due to the shit performances on the field, Adkins picks the team, he chooses the formation and the tactics, unless someone can tell me different, I haven't seen any directors going down to give a half time team talk.

To say the board haven't provided funds is a little unfair, you don't end up with forty plus professionals without significant financial backing. Obviously I accept Clough spent that, but he didn't get the money out of thin air. Having bank rolled the squad that finished 5th in League One and performed heroics in the cup last season, it is surely not unreasonable to expect that Nigel Adkins, with his 'CV', could finally guide the same team, with a few additions, back to the Championship this season.
But those vital Adkins additions have all fallen way short of what is required and I include Billy Sharp in that, for all of his undoubted endeavour, his finishing has been far too inconsistent.

There is no way that Adkins will get this team into the play offs and I would be very surprised and disappointed, if he was still at the club next season, now for me, that would be the board showing a lack of ambition ! :(

Not come from behind this season? First time for everything.
I only came to the game bc I can't listen to him moaning. It's poor, but I'd rather be here.

Will change it second half.

They're covering our threats easily.

Doubling on JCR. DCL not winning anything in the air. The Beard not breaking forward.

Not come from behind this season? First time for everything.
can only assume the fans were super negative at half time

What summed it up for me, was getting a corner in the 88th min away from home, 1-0 down, and I didnt hear any applause, or encouragment from the fans, everyone was either just chatting amongst themselves, or had left, & who could blame them.
I am the most optimistic person out there, but last night was gut wrenchingly awful.

Adkins interview was poor, but what he said to them will (hopefully), have been the complete opposite.
The confidence isnt there, and can only return stringing 2 or 3 wins together, which seems unlikely.

Desperately need to freshen up the squad with a couple of loans, 1 goal in 4 games now, our attacks are predictable, and easy to defend against.

Play offs not out of the question, 28 points from 15 games will do it, but in reality we are miles away.

Can`t believe we have gone backwards this season, worst of the 5 League One campaigns by far.
Hurts like hell.

I think I`m going to be sad, I think it`s today. :(

How many of the players we have do you think aren't good enough, and how many do you think are performing poorly because of Adkins?

Putting any deficiency of the manager aside, how McCabe can remain blameless is beyond me.

I was there too and glad I witnessed it or I wouldn't have believed it.
I hate sacking managers and we need continuity but I have real doubts about Adkins. I haven't seen anything in his buys his tactics man management or his motivation that looks good.. With the mass exodus (hopefully) at the end of the season do we trust he has it in him or do we go with someone new ? I must admit at harts head services an hour after that shit I am 50:50

Coming from you Sitters, I am now afraid of how this season might end just cannot understand how Adkins has become a bad manager

The players aren't world beaters, but they performed significantly better last season, than this. I personally believe this is down to Adkins, his man management, tactics and player recruitment. In answer to your first question, I give you, John Brayford. I don't think anyone could argue he isn't good enough for league 1, nor anyone who would argue that his performance hasn't gone hugely downhill under Adkins stewardship?

I personally believe the board backed Clough and financed 20 + new signings just last season, a strategy that failed to get promotion? Do you really believe Nigel Adkins was told there's plenty of money for any new signings, get rid of any of the current playing staff you don't fancy, money is no object in our seach for Premiership glory.
Or do you believe, as I do, that Adkins was told that Clough had spent the family silver, there were funds available to finance one or two signings this year, but that would be it. Adkins could either say, "Fuck that Kev, keep your four year contract, I'll stop at home" or he could say "I'm satisfied I can rejuvenate this great football club, I have faith in my ability and that of the players, we just need to get on the front foot, get points on the board early on, keep them out at one end and put them in at the other and with the right spirit and endeavour, I am confident we will prevail. Where do I sign?"

I know which scenario I think most likely. So unless you think Jamie Murphys inclusion in the side would have earned us an additional 18 points, why do you think McCabe is to blame for this disastrous season?

The writing was on the wall in the 2nd half of last season. Subtract Jamie Murphy, inject Connor Sammon (Clough / Brannigan) and voila!

McCabe is responsible for a decade of awful / rudderless leadership.

But Alco, Clough was sacked on the basis of the 2nd half of last season and replaced by, a man who many lauded as the very best available, I fail to see how the fact that he has failed is somehow Kevin McCabes fault.

That's like buying your dream house and when the roof leaks 6 months later, blaming the estate agent or mortgage lender
