Clough got more than 1 full season...

Not to put words in Grecian2000 mouth but I'd guess he means since Wilson no one has been in the job after 1 full season - not 1 manager has had more than 3 full transfer windows to shape a squad and, considering we have got to the play offs in 3 of our 5 seasons down here that is not a great record.

Wilder should be given 3 years minimum. Seems the majority on here think it could take at least that to get up.

Sorry to be pedantic but 45% of forum members think we'll finish 1st or 2nd this season, so pretty much every single person in the remaining 55% must think it'll take 3 years minimum for you to be right, and I doubt that.

depends how you read it. I think he only got one full season.
With all due respect, that is probably the dumbest thing I've read on here.

"Depends how you read it"? Nothing to do with the way you read it, its a fact that he got more than 1 full season.

The rest of the 13/14 season and all of the 14/15 season. That's more than 1 full season.

Not in this poll they don't so far. Hence why I wanted a view that was more realism and using head over heart. In this poll currently most people are of the opinion it could realistically take more than one season.

Oh, you're going off this poll? I thought it was a jokey piss take, my bad. The joke options affect the results as well btw. I was going off the predictions thread, which doesn't have that and also has a much larger sample size.

A poll without unfunny jokey options is like porn without pictures.

Not when you want it to happen, or when you think it should happen, but when do you think it will realistically happen?
How on earth can we judge the side after 2 games and 3 weeks before the transfer deadline?

Cheers Pickster. Saves me replying to the man himself (I suspect he knew exactly what I meant but hey ho . . . .)

Fwiw, rescuing the situation from disaster (Warnock following Heath, Hoofy following Robson, Clough following Weir) doesn't count in my book as. It's the full seasons after that . . .

Three years? two matches, eleven days seems long enough for some on here.

2 games, both lost - doomed, McCabe won't spend etc etc etc

2 games, both won - ah the bubble will burst, McCabe won't spend etc etc etc

We can try this theory out the next time we open with two wins. Hasn't happened since 2005-6.

remember that season? Gray was sold, but he was also replaced, and money was actually expended to ensure we had a team equipped for promotion.

Yes I remember it. I'm sure lots us do and I've said before that for years since we've failed to replace any of our major sales.

Because I remember it I don't have to read the same point over and over again on an almost daily basis. Sadly even on a great forum that happens ad nauseum. Each to their own but I've never understood the need to repeat the same owd save for a bit of preening.

The problem is of course now. There have been many comments on the last two games, people have passed opinion on players and some perceived shortcomings. All currently relevant. So much more so than Gray being sold ten years ago.

I only brought that up in response to yet another post from you criticising people for complaining about a team that has just chucked away a game at home to a league two side.

From the past. As per the thread you resurrected. Why not discuss now? Bolton or last night. There's been plenty of good discussion about how players were seen to have played but no, let's hark back to the past, saves any genuine thought.

We all know the failings, every single one of us. You or anyone else needs to stop thinking you are educating anyone without ultra negative views. It's no secret as to what's happened, you aren't passing on a eureka moment to the ill informed. You need to grasp that very simple fact.

I could tell you how to post too, and what to say, but I won't bother. Thanks for your input.

I haven't told you how to post. I've told you it's boring and repetitive because everyone KNOWS and you aren't adding any value to the discussion.

The post you resurrected being the perfect point.

You could have discussed the last two games at length instead couldn't you?

Again:

Thanks for your input on what I should and should not post and what's valuable and what isn't.

Promotion or execution, their career choice. We've got that used to shit managers and rubbish results some think it's ok. I don't pay money and think it's ok to be a low level losing team.
Who thinks it's OK? I fucking don't. I doubt anyone does. It will be OK if we go on to win some games and challenge for promotion. If we don't, then it's yet another shitting disaster. But until we've played a few more games, I'll try to keep my toys in the pram.
Last night - not good enough.
