Leanardo that's a dangerous post with all the Matt Done bodyguards on here. Everything you say there is spot on. I think what it is with these few people is that because we haven't had a goalscorer for a few years, it's clouding their judgement to the point where the first time we buy someone that's scored a few goals elsewhere, it makes him somewhat supreme and untouchable. Don't get me wrong he's had one decent season but there's no doubt we can get a far better, more proven and more experienced (Done used to be a left-back) striker for £2.5m.
Done is a proven striker at this level it would be a disaster if he left.
He is a scorer of half chances I like what see in him them who think otherwise well what do want at this level?

if we are serious about promotion, which apparently we are, then the best players remain. I hope some small lesson was learnt last season with the departure of Harry, but somehow I doubt it

the vague definition of our best players
we failed to go up , do we have any
had he scored 5 more we might have gone up , might get another player who does

its always a punt could keep Done and it could go either way
could sell him and it go either way

we arent selling a raheem sterling or a Saurez

Be glad to keep him , but no proof hes of such great quality we couldnt sell him for silly money

Done was a one in two striker last term that speaks for itself to say he was all alone up top most of the time.
And I'll say it again he was carrying a knock for the last half dozen games.

Right, we aren't selling Raheem or Suarez, but then we aren't in the Prem. It's all relative. Done is considered one of our best players imo, because he was the 4th highest scorer in the division (I think)

He scores goals and that was one of our failings last season. On his arrival at the Lane, he performed like one of our best players and as I say, if serious we shouldn't be looking to move on our top goal scorer

Lets not forget how poorly he was used last year. Substitute appearances, lone wolf activity and out of position. He hadn't settled, was in a jumbled team and didn't play with a settled line up. Its a wonder that he knew which end he was supposed to be scoring into under Clough. He has talent, energy and has shown he can score goals in a worse team overall than us... He frightens opposition by taking the game to them and making then know he is around.

Just think what he might do in a settled, well run team that actually has a defence behind him, an inspiring manager and is given a chance...

There's a goal every third game in him.. Something I can't see in anyone else.

Do not sell..

its all well getting hot under the collar , yes he was a decent acquisition , but hard fact is theres a possibility we could make 2m and get one as good , why cos we did in the first place
