I still genuinely can’t see it being all 3/4.

But got to say if that actually came off and our business looked along the lines of:

Freeman
Jags
Osborn
Robinson
Morrison
Hendo
Maupay
Mcburnie

With one loan signing still to go at.

I don’t think anyone could complain at that being the return from the p&l spend.

Where would we focus that loan signing? Midfield or another defender?

Getting Freeman, Robinson and McBurnie was the ultimate for me this summer.

Adding Maupay to that would be ridiculous and an unprecedented display of intent.

I think the last loan will go on RCB / RWB or CM.

Fantastic to see so many great attacking options being added/progressed. I still feel another CM is crucial - we'd still be knackered if Norwood broke his leg at Bournemouth and would have to wait until Jan to get a replacement in. Who would cover - Lundstram, Jagielka?

Have Fer and Diame gone anywhere yet?

All I'm sure about is 100% Maupay yes. And 100% Madine no.

Id take madine if he was cheapish we need a battering ram to come on in the last ten minutes.

I think madines quality at what he does like that llorente at spurs

Surely left wing back cover for Stevens?

I tend to agree at right centre back needs beefing up more.

Though i still think we look light in centre mid and I’d think it would be worth getting another cheaper option (in the Osborn price range) to cover fleck and Norwood as I need convincing lunstram is going to be able to cut it a level up. Maybe a Tom Bayliss type punt?

I actually think we could end up signing over 10. I’m sure after the potential forward additions Wilder will have considered

Right back
Right centreback (frees up basham to use his full versitility)
A Specialised Defensive midfielder (I know Osborn has played there - so maybe not)
Centre mid competition
Potentially another experienced free keeper

And depending how Bryan or the trialist are looking more JOC cover? I

Surely left wing back cover for Stevens?

I’m assuming if Osborn was to sign he’d be someone that could play that role?

Don’t know too much about him to be fair but seemed a basham type who could fill in in midfield or as a left back

I thought he was more cover for Fleck/Norwood?

I thought he was more cover for Fleck/Norwood?

As far as i was aware he was a versatile player

Probably not good enough to replace Stephens, fleck or Norwood outright but decent cover across all three positions.

But someone who’s seen him more than me would know better - so i stand to be corrected

With Morrison signing, and then Osborn instead of a LCB/LWB, the total is likely to be at least 10.

We'll likely have to sign one just for LCB, as well as a backup GK and maybe also more than one player to cover RWB and RCB.

And to think most thought we'd only sign 5 or 6!

Ravel...

There are 5 players in the original question.

Robinson, Maupay, Morrison, McBurnie and Madine

We've now signed/ about to sign 2 of them, plus Freeman. It's a no for Madine from me.

McBurnie is my first choice of the options left

People still mention Madine. He didn't impress last season and will struggle to get 15 goals next season at Cardiff.

The Brentford game aside, he impressed me, particularly with his attitude. He gave 100% whether he started or was sub and also weighed in with a few goals. I'd rate his loan as more successful than Hogan's.
I certainly wouldn't be opposed to him returning to provide a different attacking dimension (as well as adding height when defending set pieces) especially if McBurnie doesn't join. I'm not sure why so many are proposing Utd go with 4 strikers next season. If CW continues to play 2 up front, I think 5 will be required as a minimum.

All this talk of Morrison is blowing my mind. Yes he’s talented but he’s got a hell of a lot to do to get anywhere near the squad, never mind being an essential member of it. We need to treat him as an 18 year old as he’s unproven through a season.

In regards to Madine, I think I would rather take a punt on Gallagher and see if wilder can bet a tune out of him.
