Police costs

The precedent covering the cost of policing st football matches was set in Harris v. Sheffield United. It looks as though the initial judge in the Ipswich case was attempting to extend the Club's liability by misinterpreting the law but the CoA upheld the original precedent.

Nothing has changed. It would have if the Ipswich verdict had been upheld.

Peanuts for monkeys, they're worth no more!

Do we (and other clubs for that matter) get billed for the policing around & outside the ground on match days or just for the little presence they have actually inside Bramall Lane ?

Im sure there was an article recently that SUFC pay MORE for policing than any club in SY - even more than the massive with their massive gates - why is that ?

Clubs are charged for policing inside the ground or on the club's footprint.

They just chuck 'em all in the river and give the scruffy fuckers a wash at the same time.

Is this pertinent to us and our costs for policing

As much as it pains me to say it....can we really complain about policing costs when some of our fans behave the way they do.....Middlesbrough, Norwich ( me and my boy were close when that happened) and London rd after the derby, come to mind??
United now have a reputation...I would rather have the police there to be honest.

I'm not sure if we pay too much for policing at bdtbl!. Recent events suggest that they're needed. The sty is an empty cess pit!!. I don't know policing guidelines but I'm sure policing shit is not amongst them!!. The sty is living proof of what is left after Islamic state have been in the area!.

Yet none of those incidents would have been to the cost of Sheffield United, they all happened in a public area, where the Police are charged with keeping the peace. The club only pay for Police Officers deployed within the ground, hence the proliferation of stewards over the years ;)

Probably because of the number of morons who attach themselves to our club and attack opposing fans leaving the stadium.

Don’t know, ask the police who obviously see the need to put plenty of officers around the stadium on match day. I’m sure they have their reasons. From what’s happened this season their biggest failing seems to be not having enough of them about in the right places to stop the morons who follow our club.

I’m sure you agree?
