I'm on about the way ST holder's were totally disrespected re having to go a process in the hope you might retain your seat or even be in the same stand! YOU LOOK AFTER YOUR OWN FIRST!How on earth is giving Forest an extra 1k them not caring anymore. End of the day it won’t be based on who has more fans home / away it’s who’s the better team over two legs. Have a day off your us vs the board mentality
It was absolutely ridiculous decision at Oakwell. For Preston fans it was called 'Gentry Day' - when all their fans pay respect to their fans who have died during the season. Obviously a potential for rioting!!! There was no hint that there would be any trouble yet the kick off was brought forward and all pubs in the town centre told not to serve away fans and away fans told they wouldn't get a drink. The big away following was just 2000 yet the police were out in force with both Derbyshire and Durham police patrolling this hot bed of violence. Baransley fans were hardly likely to cause any bother as they were just glad the season was over. No explanation was given for the decision by SYP. It is almost unbelievable that these decisions are made and nobody seems able to do anything about it or even get an explanation for it.SYP made Barnsley v Preston a 12:30 kick off the other week as there was a big away following.
Then you’ve got the in the fact no two local teams can play each other in a 3pm kick off (even pre season), the ludicrous “walls of steel” and the piss about with the trams to Hillsborough on bouncing day and my money is on it being their decision to put Forest on the Upper tier.
Are you sure about that Ash, seems to say otherwise on their website, unless I'm reading it wrong?!

Guessing it may be tomorrow now.
Given the very low numbers that turn out for Police and Crime Commissioner election I wonder whether a candidate running on a ticket to police football sensibly would be on to something. It was absolutely ridiculous decision at Oakwell. No worries mate, I can't believe it to be honest, but then again it is Forest! I think after Wednesday they're the team I dislike the most! Much prefer County over Forest and having lived in Nottingham I related to the underdog attitude of County fans much more than Forest who think that they have a right to be in the Premier League. My bad, I saw the £29 and didn't really read the rest. In that case....FUCKING SCAB BASTARDS!!!
Excellent post, very well put and I think you have nailed it.Notwithstanding that South Yorkshire Police have, over the last 10 years or so, been terrified of their own shadow and become the most ineffectual force in the country when it comes to handling even a moderately large event, this particular debacle has all the hallmarks of being the creation of Sheffield United Football Club. ‘Club Retard’ never really goes away and is always raring to rear its head at in opportune moments.
The unseemly haste with which the ticket sales were announced after Saturday’s match, suggests that the arrangements to put away fans on the top tier were settled well before Saturday’s match. And given that the greater likelihood before Saturday was that we would actually be playing Huddersfield, it is unlikely that the decision was driven by any desire on the part of SYP to avoid a repeat of Forest fans encroaching on the running track as they did in the league match.
Then, consider that the stadium has been stewarded and policed for many years now with away fans on the lower tier - that is the arrangement that the authorities are familiar with and well- versed in. The corralling of home supporters to certain turnstiles and away fans to others is understood by all those involved in crowd control. As useless as they have become, it still defies belief that SYP would insist upon completely changing crowd policing for this one match. That would be a senseless decision.
So, that leaves us, I suspect, with this being a decision made within the club. United, as a club, has always been blighted by being run by people who don’t understand football but whoever is responsible for the cretinous decision should be sacked.
There are 3 generations of supporters in my family - all season ticket holders. I am the only one going on Saturday, though, having fortuitously managed to buy my seat by virtue of being on the website at 5am on Sunday morning. By the time, the others tried to get their seats later that morning they had been sold.
My father emailed the club to enquire why he couldn’t buy his season ticket seat and received a reply that says everything about United’s priorities - “We had to move our fans to accommodate the visiting supporters.”
Disgusting.
No we aren’t charging them 29 quidWe’re charging them £29 too
No we aren’t charging them 29 quid
Yeah my bad. Didn't read it properly. No we’re not.

Bloody hell, people are sat in a different seat in the same stadium, I appreciate I’m the minority with this but I literally couldn’t care where I’m sat providing I’m there.I'm on about the way ST holder's were totally disrespected re having to go a process in the hope you might retain your seat or even be in the same stand! Why would Mr Meadows and gang want extra away fans they can't cope wi normal amountThis has got all the hallmarks of South Yorkshire's finest - the most incompetent force in the entire country - we played them not too long ago when they had the bottom tier so why the change ? I cant believe its the decision made by the Blades and it must be those morons in South Yorkshire Police !
How about 2 tickets and you piss off permanently? If someone provides me with one away ticket for the city ground ….
I will stop posting my weekly lineups
DMS ARE OPEN
All have to … won’t make 45k though. Be gone tomorrow.Might be a daft question but does everyone you are buying a ticket for have to have over the loyalty points allocation or just lead buyer? Couple of us have 30k loyalty points but one of the old boys we go with has 45k. Wasn’t sure if he can try and get them for all of us on the Wednesday morning or if we have to wait until Wednesday afternoon until we are all eligible! Imagine half a day will make a big difference to amount available. Got all our accounts linked. Assuming all have to have over points tier but thought I would check.
Think you missed dirty L***s out mateNo worries mate, I can't believe it to be honest, but then again it is Forest! I think after Wednesday they're the team I dislike the most! Shit decision but it is only upper tier. Not that many tickets left in most of ground. South Stand think has one single seat. BLLT has handful left in block 2.No problem with Forest giving us that allocation. It's what we should've done.
Our lot on the other hand...why in the actual fuck have we come to the decision to give them both tiers? Absolutely ridiculous decision.
Yeah, apologies - misread that. Still, it's a terrible decision to not have our lot up there. Would love to hear the logic.Shit decision but it is only upper tier. Not that many tickets left in most of ground. South Stand think has one single seat. BLLT has handful left in block 2.
What your ok with depriving 2000 home supporters an opportunity to get a ticket ?its fucking incompetence by the club SAG or whoeverBloody hell, people are sat in a different seat in the same stadium, I appreciate I’m the minority with this but I literally couldn’t care where I’m sat providing I’m there.
I think £20 is good value, they had less than a week to turn it around. Giving Forest 2/3/4K literally makes no difference providing our players turn up and play like they can.
Blame the board brigade for everything bad that happens though. Get em out our club![]()
