If Sheffield beats Millwall on Tuesday, the Blades will clinch no worse than a playoff spot, since the magic number to eliminate Rochdale is 2, and Millwall 5. So, as I'm sure others have pointed out, it is very possible that Sheffield can clinch a berth in the playoffs at home on Tuesday.

Of the teams remaining, five of the seven are on the brink of getting eliminated for catching Sheffield. Scunthorpe is at 6, Bradford, Southend and Millwall at 5, and Rochdale at 2. As a practical matter, if Sheffield wins just two of its remaining seven games, it will finish no worse than 3rd, since Scunthorpe has a difficult schedule coming up, with games against Millwall and Bolton.

The two other teams remaining are Bolton at 17, and Fleetwood at 11; to state the obvious, Fleetwood's draw on Saturday hurt their chances for catching up. Right now, either four wins by the Blades or three wins and three draws would clinch automatic promotion, irrespective of any other teams' results.

Well he's correct about the four wins, sheffield bah .... win our homes game and we're up, still not easy but games are running out for the other teams.

EOCostello refer to us as United or the Blades and you will get a more generous response. Also, while there's nothing wrong with your grammar, we tend to refer to the club in the plural (they) rather than the singular (it).

I like being called Sheffield, especially on TV, its like a futuristic parallel universe where the pigs no longer exist.. We can dream

...and where Manyoo have copyrighted "United" on the basis they were the 9th ever United and also have Richard Scudamore's backing. He says that to not do so, would 'penalise the fans' so MUFC just become known as United.

McCabe is initially inclined to fight it in the courts but Manyoo offer Michael Twiss to us as a club matchday 'legend/amabassador' and two dozen only part worn, red training tops. The clincher is throwing in several hundred Scweinsteiger baby grows and a full bag of gobstoppers.

New evidence is found re the pig's 60's betting scandal and initially it looks like they are to be kicked out of the league. Further evidence however reveals an unexpected Tevez/Ched link and in a surprise tiwst, Jean Hatchett is appointed chair person of the FL for 'diversity' reasons. Her first action is to deduct us 50 points.......per each abusive tweet she received from Blades.

We are relegated below Sheffield Club and Hallam, with a record minus 14,567 points.

We can dream indeed......

Thank you for the words of advice, that's helpful.

If I were correcting someone I would make sure I was correct myself first. 'They' doesn't always mean that something is being referred to as being plural.
More worrying for me is that the op never refers to the blades as 'us' or 'we'.
Utb!
