Playing out from the back.

Be interesting to see a collage of all the goals conceded so far by teams indulging in this rather precarious routine - quite a few, and only a few games into the season.

Its wrong to suggest we should always play out from the back, and also wrong to suggest we should never do so.

You have to coach it into the players to decide the best moments for doing either. Wilder will have given clear instructions on this.

Be suicidal for us to do this against some teams and in certain phases of a match.

Didn't see the game, I'm assuming the defender had space infront of him to carry the ball? FWIW im sure some teams do this hoping to drag an opposition striker in creating space for teammates to run in to. Like I say didn't see the example you are talking about.
Can barely remember what I had for my dinner these days mate but just remember watching it and thinking WTF have they just done there. Was something like goalie in 6 yard box passes to defender also stood in 6 yard box who then tried to pass to another player on the edge of the box, got intercepted and 2 seconds later back of the net
