Just adding to brixton's post who were you happy to see leave or never pull on a red and white shirt again.

For me it has to be Mark Rankine:thumbdown: never pulling on a red and white shirt again after that playoff final performance.

suffo, david white, laurens ten heuval, brian howard......the list could go on after the last 15 years or so. i expect there are many more before my time.

For some reason i always liked David White. First proper season as a Blade was 96/97. Mitch Ward, Tiler, Holdsworth, Whitehouse, Kelly, Roger Neilsen, Andy Walker, Fjortoff & Peter Katchoro. Probably aload more there but the memories are coming back. I remember the home game against Stoke where we won 1-0 through a Carl Tiler goal and the streaker legged it on. Also that win confirmed a play-off place. Good times.

Paul Richardson, older Blades will surely agree. Ten Shovels couldn't hit a barn door. I never like it when a player leaves, unless he gave less than 100%. I back any player who puts on our shirt and gives 100%, even if he was crap.
As for David White, I quite liked him.

Chuff! Where do you start?

Derek Richardson

Tony Moore

Paul Richardson

Terry Curran

Donald Peattie

Douggie Brown

Jeff Bourne

Wally Downes

Pedro Verde

Axel Smeets

Ten Shovels

Ian Rush

Brian Marwood

There's loads more. I had no idea so many Blades had got on my tits! :D

Another one to add to the list: Keith Curle.

Have we ever had a dirtier, more cynical player?

Ten Shovels

Phil Barnes

Ashley Ward

Geoff Horsfield

Ade Akinbiyi

Paul Thirlwell

Danny Cadamateri

Brian Howard

Claude Davis

Andy Parkinson

Alan Wright

Owen Morrison

Hao Haidong

Iffy Onuora

Craig Beattie

Keith Gillespie, loved the guy for a year and then he proved himself to be a useless twat.

When is someone going to mention G.T.
I for one was a fan of his but he copped a lot of flak, thought he would have been first on the list :-(

I'm pretty glad that David Carney has gone. The worlds neshest Australian, and full of his own self importance.

Glad to have seen the back of him

That streaker was ace. She had a fine set.
I remember Kendall going barmy at Fjortoft when he escorted her from the pitch.
Happy days.

You've been spoilt mate if you think most of those are the worst players we've had. I can pick 5 who put decent effort in.

I remember Richardson's last game at the lane. He was chuffing awful and the kop had been giving him some right stick throughout the game. Midway through the second half they decided to sub him. The kop went nuts cheering and chanting nasty stuff at him. As he was trotting off, he turned towards the kop and gave it the double V's. Never played again!

Incidently i heard at the time on good authority that Mark Rankine was fined by the club for every time he shot from outside the box.

Monty beware!

How could you not love him?

He was dirty as fuck, but he got away with it (most of the time).

Was most pleased to see Horsfield go becuase he was on big money and was never going to play.

SouthEssex, you hit my reasoning bang on the head. Not only was he wank, but sticking the jacks up at everyone was unforgiveable. I was about 13 and worshipped the players, and to see that from one of them was a real letdown.

Hendrie and Carney, both wasted two years at the lane and took the wage. Hendrie was finished for me when he got petulent after the final whistle at Wembley.

Although we now need two players to compete for the title of most enthusiastic warm up now that Billy and Hendrie have gone

Forgot about Rankine.

He was shite aswell.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you.....

Bruno Ribeiro

Dearest Bruno, subject of some fine debate on VP as to whether he was the saviour of SUFC or just some nesh auslander not fit to clean Booby Ford's boots.

Mind you, Bruno has done OK since he returned to Portugal. Don't think he was crap, just not the sort of player we needed at the time.
