We've had a few players who have left and left me bemused only not to reach their potential once theyve left.

My nominations would go to Martin Smith, left us for more money to go to Huddersfield, I know they're above us at he moment but Huddersfield, really.

My other nomination would go to Jordan Slew, he'd have been much better staying but fair play he went for the money but the bigger picture for him should have been to get at least 50 games of first team football under his belt, mayb the board forced his hand though.

Jordan Slew does stand out for me. Started well, then Rankine turned his head when Blackburn came calling. Has done the grand sum of feck all since he left!

Think he could have been an excellent player had he stayed and developed here.

Blake was one, but more recently, I didn't like the way Williamson f'ked off and left us in our hour of need, especially after we nursed him back to health following injury after injury and particularly when he suffered those serious complications and the club stood by him

As said above, f'k em!

I would also mention Paddy Kenny but he's spent the years since he left us plying his trade in the PL and Championship.

Similar to Williamson we stood by him when he was down and he jumped ship at the first opportunity.

I struggle to have it in for any former player but will make an exception for Jacob Mellis. Utter cock.

Cant agree with that Warnock bombed Smith out at the earliest opportunity in favour of cloggers, one of Heaths few good signings

Who was that young lad that played for the youth team and put a video on YouTube of him juggling the ball in a Man U shirt because he thought he was going to get a contract with them? Seem to remember it not being all that long after Mellis left.

I think he ended up going nowhere instead.

Sorry I couldnt find a picture of him with egg on his face!

All of em. Once they leave, feck em.

Pretty much this.

Honourable mentions to.

Deano
Lee Morris
Jordan Slew

All of whom were sold for relatively large sums compared to their performances at the new club. It makes me smile that Leeds/Derby/Blackburn fans must be cursing spending such sums on those three players.

Not being pedantic, hence the like, but does( I think he ended up going nowhere instead) sound right..lol

Disagree with this Slew business. From what I remember: he signed a long-term contract before we sold him, the club accepted a bid, he never handed in a transfer request or anything of that nature, and he turned down the opportunity to go on loan to Wednesday out of respect to his blade roots. No issue there!

Now Lee Williamson I slightly agree with, and Blake obviously!

From memory, he turned down our contract if favour of Udders. Either way, he quickly found himself at Northampton, and our cloggers clogged it to the premiership, by your logic proving Warnock right for the umpteenth time.

Its some good old fashioned ITK about that one re Warnock bombing him out... i thought he was a very good player, no reason we couldn't have utilised him in that squad

That's how I remember it with Smith, he jumped ship ASAP when warnock joined and went to Udders who were splashing silly cash on blades players at the time thanks to Steve Bruce.

Yep, apparently he excelled at Northampton in the 4th division.

Maradonna. Could have been a Blade legend, but turned into a cheating Argie fooker.

I never really warmed to Kevin MacDonald.

Took him on when a lot of clubs wouldnt touch him a barge pole. Always seemed to be here for the money rather than anything else and when Wolves came in for him he couldnt get out of the Lane quick enough.

Think we replaced him with a lot better player anyway
