[QUOagainst rre's PC, post: 1207712, member: 2628"]He did indeed, if I remember rightly he was hauled off before half-time after strolling around once it was known that Birmingham were in for him.

I'm sure someone else will have a better recollection and amend accordingly.
Was against Watford who he later joined.[/QUOTE]

I thought he joined Birmingham from us.

Nyron Nosworthy - it's the only explanation for why he was so shit.

Ashley Ward.

Fucking rubbish. Pay-day Big Time Charile Carroli with a suntan.

pommpey

Yes, our Ashley was a bit of a cock wasnt he. Only thing i recall him doing of anybenefit to us was scoring twice in a 2 nil win for us over dirty Leeds at the Lane on a sunday afternoon kick off. Generally though he didnt give a fook.

Devlin was a class player at times and on his day could terrorise a defence single handedly. Remember a game v Preston on new years eve at Lane where we came back from 2 down to win with a late goal. He was simply outstanding that day. Trouble was his boyhood team came in for him and he had his head turned. He didnt want to know after that and played like a cock. I lost all my respect for him after that and would have driven the nobhead to Brum mi sen.

Didn't Jon Harley score the other with a free kick ?

Keith Gillespie. Played well enough but apparently he slated us in his autobiography.

John Ebbrell and James Wallace, couldn't even be arsed not to be injured.

Players who played for the great sheffield united, who thought we were a bit beneath them .This will be very random but I will start with a few.
Marcus bent
Nathan blake
Steve Wigley
Jose Baxter
Darius henderson
Phil thompson

To be honest second half on Saturday there were there were a few that looked like they didn't,thre were a lot of 50/50 balls that the Gillingham players won that they should have in fact we were losing 60/40 balls at times.
Wilder was right to have ago at them , but I'm unsure whether he should of made it public

Claus Davies , there's plenty others can't think right now !

Claude was with Preston (I think) when he publicly stated he'd only signed for them until Man utd saw him play at which point he'd move to them!
Then we signed him! But the biggest shock of all was him moving to derby for a profit!

you could add Murphy and Adams to a list like this
heads were turned by the lure of bigger pay days and a bit more limelight

but you could say that of any player thats ever moved up a league or two

I think people need to understand the difference between not giving a shit and being past it.

There are some astonishing names on here, I'm almost surprised McGrath doesn't get a mention, I mean he never trained or broke sweat did he? Doesn't matter how much you "want it", if your body has given up (i.e. Jimmy Johnstone, Ian Rush et al) then you're going to play shit.

NB: Fucking Helios owns this thread, the bronzed up twat.

At times James Beattie. Undoubtedly had quality but often couldn't be arsed.

McGrath should not get a mention because he was pure class - head and shoulders above anyone else in the team - Didn't need to train or break sweat - He could read a game perfectly !

Martin Woolford
Michael Higdon
Leon Clarke
John Brayford (after clough)
Leon Britton
Gary Naismith
Jordan Stewart

Shall I keep going?

Exactly the point I'm making Fiery. Someone like McGrath put no more effort in than say Rush, it's just that his game wasn't based on anything other than reading everything immaculately by then. Most players don't have the luxury of being like that and physical effort is needed. When the bodies gone then most players are fucked. Doesn't mean they aren't trying.

The gormless jug-eared scumbag who recently signed for Birmingham. The most odious piece of shit ever to befall this club. I hope he gets what he fully deserves.
Was terrible the other week against Newcastle, didn't look bothered and gave up

Geoff Horsfield.
Did he ever actually play for us? I seem to recall Warnock getting him in on loan but I can't actually remember seeing him in a Blades shirt. Saying that, my memory is'nt what it used to be!

Edit: Just googled him and he played 3 times for us. So my memories not too bad after all.

Disagree. Murphy always excited me bombing up and down the wing. It's not really his fault that this shower was run so badly that he was playing at a lower level than what was possible for him. He always gave his all.

Yeah he did. Add another from that season as well. Gary Flitcroft.
