Obviously the most urgent will be defence. Wonder if Harry is set to return?

I haven't a clue as to the names of player's he'll be looking at. So long as he does I'm not all that bothered, I'll welcome any new signing with open arms and give them a chance to impress us all.

He plays proper football. He'll sign proper footballers, but hopefully rather bigger, stronger proper footballers than in recent times...
A few quality suggestions - all out of contract
Matt Kilgannon
Rodolph Austin
Chris Eagles
Craig Davies or Nicky Maynard
A couple of them would complete the squad?????

Hopefully a few defenders before anything else, Ive been doing my own research & there was 2 young CBs I remember that have been talked able to play at a higher level. 1 at Shrewsbury conor goldson who made L2 team of yr & tom parkes from Bristol rovers

I would take Matty Kilgallon back without a shadow of doubt, if he is as good a player as he was for us years ago. I don't think he would be or he wouldn't have been released from his last club.

Craig Davies

what we need is100% grafters, people with good engines , Tonge doesnt fall into that category
The tall Grimsby centre back Id sign in a heart beat , was outstanding in the play off final

The question with any signing is:

(a) can they play at this level
(b) are they capable of stepping up to Championship level

We all want to get out of this shit division, but it would be nice if the 2 x CH's we have to sign could would be good enough for a division higher.

Ambition says we should be looking to do what Brizzle did last season, go up with perhaps 6/7 players ready to play in the division higher.

Does he look that good?

Saw Paul McGrath on the telly at the weekend...could he still do a job for us?

Who cares whether he's still any good or not. He used to play for us.

Bringimback. Bringemallback.

Get Craig Davies in as well. He's been a Bladey target for years. Never mind that in his eleven years as a professional footballer, he's scored a grand total of 88 goals. A fine average of 8 per season.

Gerrimin!

Nicky Maynard. Another oft-mentioned Bladey favourite. His impressive tally of 4, yes 4, goals in the last 5 seasons makes him a must-have.

Gerrimin! Gerrembothin!

I do wonder sometimes....

Alan Lee!

What's Barry Hayles up to these days?

Arturo Lupoli could be the answer to our prayers, too.

Personally I wouldnt have him back at all,

I remember watching the Blackpool game away.... when he looked completely disinterested as we had told him he wasnt being sold.... he performances went downhill and in the end we sold him, another one who saw they lure of premiership football but wasnt good enough for it.

he has played just 63 games since we sold him 6 years ago.... so an average of just 10 appearences per season.... I think James Wallace has actually played more games in 6 years... and I dont think Kilgallon has been particulary injured....says all I need to know about him and his attitude.

Blade bladey blades.
i've been off here since Adkins was announced. i knew it would be all.. 'billy sharp.. billy sharp.. billy sharp..'

micheal tonge.. micheal brown.. greg halford.. harry.. kyle W. .kyle N. killa..

christ.. (umm not him.. TC too old now)

Is Michael Brown coming back? We could really really do with all those goals he scores from midfield

Just to be fair!!!
Davies has a better than one in four goal scoring record - 40% of games in the championship
Maynard has spent the last 4 years in the premier league and championship with a cruciate ligament thrown in for good measure. Overall goal record of one in three.
'If' fit - both might have something to prove.
By the way we are in league one - third division.. Hardly full of great defences..
Any suggestions? Preferably players still alive☺
